Men V Boys

Evening all.... Worthing fan here and I come in peace !!!

I love non-league football and all its history and enjoy reading posts on fans forums the negatives and positives.
Some clubs have "Sugar Daddy's" that inevitably come crashing down whilst others try to live within their means.
There is however a common theme for those without the aforementioned "rich benefactor" and that is that young players making their way in the game are thrust into the pressure pot. Although we have no benefactor at Worthing, we have seen both examples this season. As has been well documented we started the season with a clutch of supposed big name signings by our then Manager and a 3G pitch that was deemed unfit to play on resulting in our first six "home" matches being played at our nearest rivals Bognor Regis Town. The result of this disastrous start was 3 points from 15 league games.
The inevitable happened, the Manager walked before being sacked and the Club reappointed one of their most successful recent Manager's in Adam Hinshelwood. He promptly offloaded the big earning journeymen and started to gradually but surely bring in the best young players within the local area and give them a chance. The results are plain to see... the average age of our side is 21 with only three players over 25. Give the youngsters a chance !!!
