1 - 3 was not really a fair result as a draw would possibly have been the right result. The game was not helped by some very odd decisions from the ref. From the very start he over ruled the assistant near the stand, who then seemed to lose all interest in the game. Two very harsh red cards late on and a host of incorrect corner / throw in / free kicks given.
The Worthing No's 2 & 9 wouldn't be out of place in the local acting school, how are kids ever going to stop diving and rolling around if they see that kind of farcical behaviour ever week? They should both be ashamed of themselves!!!
Much better performance than last Monday (it could not have been worse let’s face it!!).
I also thought Craig’s programme notes made interesting reading, in answering the criticism following recent performances. Not sure I agree 100% but it was good to read.

Monday's terrible performance on and off the pitch knocked the stuffing out of me. And I just could not face it today. So I went to watch some rugby instead. Much more enjoyable. But I'd like to hear what Craig said in his programme notes. It might make a difference to whether I buy a season ticket again next season. At the moment I don't think I'll bother.

No different from last Monday. Worthing created chances and deserved to win.

Another poor performance. The end of the season can't come soon enough, some of the supporters must agree because there were so few of them there. Apart from another classy strike from Summers there was again very little to cheer about, our inability to produce any quality attacking play, despite having one of the best strikers in the division, has been a feature of the last month or so. The players might not think they have anything to play for, although a place in a cup final and pride should surely come into it, but the manager has, his job for a start. If the manager is a reflection of the character of the team, then we are going nowhere with Craig, the drive and direction from the dugout is non existant, if things don't change, on and off the pitch, it won't be the play offs next season, we'll be relegated.

Oh, and another thing. I heard reports yesterday that the Worthing players have been playing for free. Can you see any of our lot doing that ? The Worthing side had a togetherness and determination to win the game that put us to shame.

I read that on their site about Christmas time Andy, they have financial issues which, players playing for nothing is the only answer, it certainly does noe seem to have an effect on their commitment, for it was their for all to see.
Having read Craigs programme notes, i now have a better understanding of his reactions from the dug out, but still feel that reminding players during the game of the task they should be doing, would not go amiss, lets face it some players may not remember instructions as well as others.

Craig's Programme Notes herewith :---
I have to say this has been the longest week of my life in football. With the week off, before going back to teach on Monday its nice to enjoy the week, however, after the performance and result on Saturday myself and Adam have been analysing and dissecting the game, even at this late stage in the season, to ensure we put right the wrongs of Saturday.
Saturday's performance from Whyteleafe was the style we predicted. As we always do before the game against teams, we highlight what the opposition will look to do and how they will set up. They put balls in behind and pressed us high and it was important we adapted. I felt the first half was very similar to Faversham, very even, a lack of quality and although the pitch looked good the fact that it was dry affected our ability to move the ball. Although we were far from ourselves if you look at the game as a whole Whyteleafe scored from a debatable free kick, and what a free kick it was, from what looked an impossible angle and, a mistake in the middle of midfield giving the ball to the striker clean through on goal. Sol missed a couple of headers either side of half time and we were denied a stonewall penalty which would have changed the outcome of the game.
The amount of work we have done midweek in pre season training and throughout the season in training games and patterns of play mean the players are accustomed to adapting to the different formations. I will always question managers who bark at players and shout typical non league gibberish from the sideline. Those who do this will do it for the following reasons; their players aren't good enough technically or tactically to absorb information they are told before the game, or they aren't effective communicators or coaches during the week in training or at half time. Myself and Adam will speak to individuals and get messages across to the players and give information in terms of positioning and movement during the game but you will rarely catch us shouting negatives or shouting for the sake of it. We use half time to critically analyse the first half and talk about adaptations for the second half, not scream, shout and spray saliva all over players, some of whom are only 17/18 years old who have to go out and play the second half with their confidence negatively affected. Maybe twenty years ago that may have had a bit more of an effect, but not as much nowadays.
In one or two games this season I have questioned the attitude and commitment of players in games and their reaction has been outstanding. They work hard in training, they listen, they take advice and most importantly they have all improved as players and as a team. As a manager that is what I want from my players and I can excuse the odd game they don't perform at their best because 99% of the time they are working hard on and off the ball in training and in games to give it their best. We need that reaction again today.
Two years ago the club was nearly relegated and had a large turnover of managers in a short space of time. Last season we managed to stabilise the first team and stopped the rot hoping to bring about progression over this and next season. But for our woeful 15 game period in the middle part of the current season we have done that, the squad is as good as it has ever been and some of the performances this group of players have put in haven't been seen at the club for years. Yes, they let everyone down with the quality of their performance Saturday but the boys didn't give up and concede five or six and lie down like other teams have done in our league. The reason there was such a big disappointment and negative reaction is because everyone knows the quality we have and the excellent performances this season. I am as keen for progression, success and I am also as ambitious as everyone associated with the club, but it is important to look at the bigger picture of the season and be realistic, one miserable defeat following an excellent performance at Faversham surely cannot mean the players don't care about playing for the club ?!
One thing is for sure I know the players will be doing their level best to produce a much improved performance for their team mates and everyone associated with the club today and for the rest of the season. The added motivation for the next three games is playing in the London Senior Cup Final and we must carry on a run until the end of the season.
Thank you for your continued support.
Let's get the Bog End Boys bouncing !!!!

Well, it is obvious that Craig sees the same problems as a lot of the supporters, and has addressed the issues. But it doesn't look to me as if the work on the training ground is transferred very effectively to match day.
And obviously I am happy that the management team are still focussed despite the long run of meaningless end of season games, but I'm afraid, to me, this isn't being reciprocated by the players.
Regarding his demeanour on the sidelines, I'm not a critic of his "quiet style" and I agree with what he said about this.

I,ve got no problem with Craigs quieter style, but if things are going wrong on the pitch, the players don't seem to be able to change things themselves and I don't see too much instruction from the dugout. I disagree with a few points in his notes but lets just see how we go in the last few games. A couple of wins will lift the mood at the club and that is badly needed.
