SEASON TICKETS

It appears as if another of our neighbours is making a season ticket even more attractive, Kingstonian.

£145 full price  Concessions £85

This is for all 23 home games     League Cup   Surrey Senior Cup  and pre season friendlies against Chelsea xi  and Millwall  xi..

First Sutton,  then Carshalton i believe, now K`s, too,  let us hope is does not affect us too badly.

Such a shame that clubs, at this level, feel they have to give away badly needed revenue, which could be the difference between being solvent or bankrupt, all the while the pigs higher up the food chain will all have their snouts in an even wealthier trough, hope they choke!

Re: SEASON TICKETS

As you say Alan, "giving away money". Personally I don't feel these are anything more than PR exercises. Whilst it might attract a few existing supporters without season tickets who maybe currently see 50%+ of their games to buy one, or save money for existing season ticket holders who renew, I don't believe that it will either increase attendances or overall revenue for these clubs.

The Sutton £100 offer is interesting if you read the small print. £100 for the season ticket but an extra £20 if you want a seat and a further £20, wait for it, for the privilege of using their car park. Still not bad for £140 suppose but not quite as good as the headline would have  you believe.

Re: SEASON TICKETS

You can watch a local Premier league team for 20 quid a game and a local Championship team for virtualy the same price as a T&M home game. Maybe a factor ?

Re: SEASON TICKETS

It is not a case of beign scared Marlon, it is called balancing the books, our chairman does not have unlimited funds, I bet we would be in for a surprise at how much he contrubutes to the first team, do not forget no matter how you package it, it is his money!
Living within your means, means exactly that and you have a future, how many clubs have lived for the short term,. then paid the penalty.
What we should do is monitor their crowds and see if it is working, then if it is, consider our options.

Re: SEASON TICKETS

I understand the sentiment but unfortunately not as straight forward as it might seem. Even for these less well attended cup games the expenses of both teams and match officials have to be deducted from the gate receipts before what's left is split between the two competing teams and respective County FAs - and that's after we have taken the VAT element off of the £10 that everyone pays (ie the club only actually gets £8.33 for every full paying adult). Therefore by allowing our season ticket holders what would effectively be free admission would unfairly reduce the amount we share with the opposition - and in these cup game we have  to give them exactly the same number of free admissions as we give ourselves so if we let say 40 season ticket holders in for free we would also have to allow the opposition to have 40 additional comp admissions
