Re: Ryman League Shock

We are away to East Grinstead on opening day.  First home game is against Corinthian Casuals on the Tuesday.

Boxing day we are at home to Whyteleafe, and we finish the season with a toughie away to Folkestone.

Re: Ryman League Shock

Guernsey extremely unlikely for me this season!!! Checked my roster and I'm down to work that weekend. And given it's close proximity to Christmas, it will be nigh on impossible to get the time off!!! Also missing East Grinstead again. Any weekend but THAT one!!!

Re: Ryman League Shock

Same for me - I'm only about 10% likely to be able to make the East Grinstead game - and missed it last season as well.

The problem with a Sicky is you are likely to be tagged on Facebook. Lol.

Re: Ryman League Shock

Sorry if somebody has already made a fuss about this and I have missed it but......
By 22 fixtures in we will already have played 7 teams twice (14 of the 22 games will be 'doubles'!).
Two of those pairings (Carshalton and Hythe) will be despatched within 2 weekends.

This seems a bit strange to me?
If the league wish to make it even simpler we could simply play all our opponents home one week and then away the next.
Do that in alphabetical order and we would know the fixtures as soon as the divisions were finalised.  Simpleski.

Re: Ryman League Shock

That was an old Sunday League trick.  Early on, play a lot of teams twice and some teams not at all.  Then, come the end of the season, if there has been a fixture pile up, you could always play a couple of double bankers!  Perhaps the new Ryman League Chairman is looking to try this!

Re: Ryman League Shock

It's the same in the national league with teams playing each other home and away in short spaces from each other
