Farnborough

There was a celebrity guest on Hawksbee & Jacobs today (Can't remember his name) who is a Farnborough fan.  He is under the impression that their league status for this season isn't fixed yet.  Apparently due to the management of their CVA it seems that they could start the season in the Prem with a 10 point deduction or even be forced to drop down a division.  Which presumably would be our division.

Re: Farnborough

oooooh, I do hope so. They've got a lovely ground, it's relatively near and I've not been before

Re: Farnborough

But if that were to happen would one of the teams in our division have to drop out?

Re: Farnborough

I suppose one of the relegated clubs would get a reprieve.  However, I can't see it happening at this late stage.

Re: Farnborough

If it happened Farnborough would replace Peacehaven in our division.

Re: Farnborough

The latest on the Farnborough saga is that apparently the Isthmian League have demanded some sort of assurance bond from Farnborough, but Farnborough have declined to pay up and are appealing the decision.  In the meantime, their first league fixture at VCD on Saturday has been called off.

Re: Farnborough

What a shambles, if that is the case they should be suspended from further games this season, so saving it happening the following week and inconveniencing another innocent team, what are VCD meant to do now having prepared for the start of the season.
Disgraceful it is about time the league or the FA put there foot down regarding teams financial conduct it appears so easy to just walk away from debt, leaving others to suffer, then start up again.
