A bit of a breath of fresh air really. I thought we played with a decent pace and never let the opposition settle. And when we were called upon to defend later on, we looked pretty comfortable. Simpson had one of his best games in a Tooting shirt, capped by a goal. And we saw a bit of the Makofo that we've been waiting for with a couple of surging runs to the byline.
The pessimist in me still sees us sitting in a lowly 14th with a negative record, although the optimist in me sees us just 4 points off a play off spot with a game in hand!

It's good to hear an improvement and of course a victory, but sounding slightly negative all the teams we have played so far with possiably the exception of Carshalton haven't exactly been top draw teams and yet our record stands at won five lost five. When we start playing the bigger teams it could get nasty. Hopefully the team will play better against the big boys like Carshalton who have now beaten Hastins and drawn with Faverham both away from home.

Did you notice that well clear division leaders Folkestone were beaten 2-1 by Ramsgate last night, a side we beat and who were decidedly average. 'Proving what Bondy?' I hear you say. Err, still early days.
Good, solid and really well organised performance last night from a side fielding surely the shortest forward line in the division.
Back 4 were very strong (Sol P-B missing through injury) with Robinson sitting in front of them.
Agree with Endo that Simpson played well and fully deserved his goal, moving forward to prod home on the far post when the ball broke down the left. And he nearly had another with a fierce shot from lomg range.
Still think we are going to see much more from Makofo. Good engine and works hard but the taking on of defenders we saw last night can take him to another level.
Jamie worked tirelessly across their back line all game to restrict the time their defenders had to play the ball forward and was well assisted in that by the energetic Jake.
How good were Chatham? In truth not very and I expect to see them in the relegation zone. Although a bit concerning that the huge Dallhouse came on late and actually managed to spin both Tracher and Simeone. The Arc Royal could turn tighter!
However Chatham did respond to our goal with an equaliser that was the passing move of the match switched well from one side to the other at great speed.
But it did not put the lads off for long and the win was fully deserved with a Jake penalty followed by our own fine passing move that ended with Jake caught up in the goal net like a salmon (or perhaps a sprat?).
Special mention for keeper Sam Somerville who punched aggressively when required and pulled off 2/3 fantastio tip over saves.
Onward and upwards with confidence Terrors.

In contrast to Luke Badiali who used to head butt aggresively when least required

What a clever ghost that Ian must be because I don't recall even seeing him there on Tuesday night!
I'm always happy to do match reports (on away games) but just need some advance warning please.
