Driving home from work yesterday I was stuck at the traffic lights in Durnsford Road where the old football ground used to be. Turning right out of Plough Lane came a coach, not any old coach, a Mitcham Belle coach with the number plate.....AL04 ASH...... How f*cking good is that ? You've got Alan, the score United are going to beat Arsenal by at the weekend and Ashtree all on the same plate !!!
Later on in the evening I was walking past the old Barclays Bank building at the Cricket Green and a lurid pink London taxi went past driven by a fat bloke in a Hi-Viz jacket.....the number plate was CH1P5....the driver looked vaguely familiar.
Actually I think I might have dreamt that last bit

If only it were true buddy.

The first bit IS true Ash, apart from the bit about United beating Arsenal four-nil of course.....it's only going to be two-nil.

I would settle for that now, hope Harry does not read this or I might have an an unpleasant little visitor

As weekends go, this has to be amongst the worst,
Saturdays game was not exactly the most exciting you will ever witness, especially with our "get out of jail" goal
and I still left the ground disatisfied, but England were going to put that right in the evening.
Unfortunately not! and beaten by a much better Aussie side, but there was always Sunday, to at least make up for the disappointment.
.
It could not have got any worse, my weekend had collapsed, three goals in twenty minutes, and we were not even in the game, things did improve slightly but only because I felt Arsenal new they did not have much to beat.
I think "Cricket" you need to stick to horses, you built up my hopes with your dream, only for them to come crashing rudely down to earth.
So on to Tuesday and hopefully "Tooting" can return the feel good factor to my week.

On the contrary I had an excellent weekend !!
On Friday I worked at the Press Day for the forthcoming Race of Champions at the Olympic Stadium, rubbing shoulders with luminaries such as David Coulthard, Suzie Wolfe (yummy), Daniel Ricciardio, Jason Plato and "Crofty" from SKY F1.
On Saturday I managed to miss the game that was "not exactly the most exciting you will ever witness" as I was Stage Commander at the RAC Club at Epsom on the "Brittania Cup" Classic & Historic rally. (Hospitality there is top notch !)
On Saturday evening I managed to catch Brit Tai Woffinden win the World Speedway Cahmpionship at a canter and on Sunday Arsenal (who I don't really follow) thrashed the Mancunian "scummers" out of sight ! Superb.
Back to reality with finishing the programme for Tuesday's epic Cup clash with the Rozzers ! Such fun.

Bit of a mixed bag my sporting weekend. Tooting won and I won £ 40 first prize on the Golden Goal
It all went tits up after that

After your building me up "Cricket" regarding Sundays result, it is of little comfort to know your`s also went sour on Saturday, but that was only one, imagine THREE!
Unfortunately buddy, you and I only mix with the lower classes, not like some on this forum, so our fare is small change, anyway I do not think I would like all that rich food, fine wines, and brandies.
Much!

To be honest Ashtree old chap, the only lower classes I mix with are you and Joe ! One spends the rest of one's time at the Cricket Club or organising meetings of the Cricket Green Conservation Area Residents Asssociation Now pass me my Havana there's a good chap

To the tune of ' My Old Man's a Dustman '
DeePee's not a gambler, he says it's a mug's game
But when I saw my SweetP I thought 'I like that name'
I urged you all to back her, but you thought you knew best
So just you keep on dressing in Rab C Nesbitt's old string vest

I am sorry I doubted the wisdom of your bet buddy, but I am afraid I would not know how to place a bet even if tempted, which I wasn`t by the way, I do not get my benefit money until Tuesday.

second verse;
I know i did not back it,
and that makes me a t**t
it was raining eavily,
and I could not find my at,
I`ll listen to you next time,
you can be sure of that,
I`ll go and put a tenner on,
but only on the flat.
