I see on Facebook a message from Adkins that says Mark Hams's replacement is already in place; Paul Dale who is head coach at the British Army Football Association and has coached Birmingham City Ladies, Farnborough and Godalming. Does any one know him? If so do they share Adkins' enthusiasm at his appointment?
Can't see mention of this on the official website but there's not too much about football on that I could see

Sad to see Mark go but again have faith in the wonderful decision maker Steve Adkins he knows what he is doing .........doesnt he? and if he doesnt he is only accountable to himself ...fantasy football time ....I still say give Frank 3 seasons .....he has had the summer .........

I still don't understand how Frank got the job.
I don't even blame Frank to be honest he just tried his luck. But why did Steve give a complete Rookie the job? I guess we will never know.🏠🏡🏦
I have invited Mark to come on here and tell us why he left. I am waiting on his response.
This isn't personal but I have to call you out on a number of contradictory points you seem to make on this forum.
1) earlier in the season you were supportive of frank (and mark) but now youre not supportive of frank. You were raving about the training sessions and the number of good players that were attending and everything looked rosey. What changed so suddenly? It's still early season and whilst weve seen some up and down performances, we are not a million miles from the play offs so things aren't all doom and gloom
2) you said just a few days ago in a different thread that that was the last you were going to talk about our current manager, but here again you are talking about.
3) you say frank is a rookie, which he is, but so was Craig tanner.
Also, I understand you have stopped coming to games because you don't support frank. You've written many times, and its totally admirable, about how much you love the club. Surely that should drive you to come and watch the club, support the club. They need you.
This isn't meant as a dig, simply pointing out some things I've noticed. I see this as healthy debate and to be honest whilst these debates cobtinue then that is a good thing for the club, it shows people care!
Anyhoq, whilst i dont know you personally, I must praise you on your general inside knowledge of the game and what is going on around the place.
Whilst I don't agree with everything frank does, im willing to give him a chance because he is our manager right here right now.
We've also just won three on the bounce so a little optimism wouldnt go amiss.

Obviously the UEFA A shows that Paul has something. But yet again we seem to be getting someone in with little or no non-league experience.
At this level, the standard of coaching is important, but I would argue that player acquisition and retention is probably more important. And I reckon you need to have been in and around our league for several years to know who the right type of players are.

Hi mate, no not Frank Wilson. If you read some of my other posts recently you will see I too have criticised some of the football we've played - especially hoofball. Although to the team's credit this seems to have been stemmed lately.
I've watched Tooting since the beginning of Billy Smith's reign a couple of years back. By no means a veteran but have definitely felt some of the hurt of the past decade.
Also, agree Met Police were a youth side and Chipstead are bottom for a reason. But you can only beat what is in front of you and I hope this sparks a little good spell from the team. Maybe it will, maybe it won't. I can only hope!
I have no relation or bias towards Frank at all, but seeing as he is our current manager, I will try my best to support him.
Anyway, again, this wasn't meant as a dig, and i think you must continue posting! After all the healthy debate and passion from people that care, such as yourself, are what will keep the club alive...just!

I agree in what you have written. A long conversation with a seasoned manager sparked my post yesterday. I have also been told a few things that have been going on.
Yes we have won games but against a Met Police youth side and a Chipstead side who are nothing more than a pub team.
The football is very poor to watch it think most people agree.
It is like a bad marriage not watching Tooting. You love your your club but you can not bare to be around it because watching the games makes you unhappy. Unless you have supported the club for a number of years you may not understand . I am going to try and walk away and stop posting.
I did go to the Met Police game and for me yes we won thanks to a great goal by Christindo and Sol who came on pissed off and a point to prove. But the standard of football was really poor.
Are you Frank Wilson ?
Gary, wins are wins and we have 18 points from 12 games. It took Craig, in his first season 15 games to get 19 points, so on results there is very little between the two managers. I know that I would rather have scrappy football and more points than pretty football with less points. Hopefully we will sign a good forward who can help Busy out. I think that this would make all the difference.

And that doesn't mean I want anyone to stop posting - I quite enjoy hearing different opinions. I bet you don't agree with mine all the time!!
I agree with yours all the time 59er, you speak more sense on this forum than anybody, with the possible exception of myself.
Being a nosey git, I'd love to know Mark's reasons for quitting. Everyone seems to have jumped to the same conclusion..........but who knows ?

Why do we not let sleeping dogs lie, what has gone on in the past is now history, also the reason for Mark leaving is surely between him and Steve Adkins, personally I feel continuing this debate about our current manager Is not in the best interests of the club.
I know we all have opinions, and that is what the forum is about, but surely the time has come to put an end to all this destructiveness and get behind the team, and the manager, it can only be for everyones benefit.

I agree with Alan. It is pointless. He has gone for whatever reason and that is that. Let's get on with the rest of the season.

Getting back to the subject line.
This was posted on the "Help for Heros" website back in 2014 :----Paul, who has the military rank of captain and is the regimental career management officer at 22 Field Hospital, has been the head coach of the Defence Medical Services team since 2002.
He joined the Army in 1994 and played at all levels of football within the forces before taking on the coaching role.
Since doing so he has seen an increase in the numbers of forces personnel playing football and he knows just how important it is for those serving in the military to have some form of break from their regular duties.
“Now we have a regular bunch of players who want to come and play football, rather than a bunch of players who wanted to come down for the social side, which is what happened in the past,” he added.
“It is good for the lads. ‘Release’ is a good word to use as they can get together with their peer groups and a bunch of lads they can relate to and share stories with, not just about football but about their military careers and what direction they are going to go in next.”
One particular way of building that rapport among a group of footballers is to take them on overseas tours.
And that is something that Paul has been involved in during his time as the head coach.
“Gibraltar was the first one, we have had a couple of Canada trips and a couple to America, we have been to South Africa and most recently to Tenerife.
“They are there to set the standard for the boys, to let them know what type of training we do, and most importantly so that these boys can bond as a team.
“It is very difficult to meet up once a month for two hours to train, and then play the following day, so it’s nice for them to go away for 10 days or so and do some proper training and bonding.
“What we have got to understand is that these guys have been in places of conflict, Afghanistan being the most recent one, so to take them out of a military environment and put them somewhere like, most recently, Tenerife, where professionals train, helps them to relax.”
Football has always been in the blood of Paul, who hails from Barnsley but supports Manchester United, as he was – from 2006 to 2008 – also a coach with Birmingham City Ladies.
In that period he worked with international stars such as Karen Carney and Laura Bassett while developing his own coaching knowledge and experience and taking his coaching qualifications – he holds the respected UEFA A Licence award and currently coaches at Godalming Town.
The Surrey side play in Division One South & West of the Southern League, Step 4 of the non-league pyramid system, and one of their players – Lee Wigley – will be in the Defence Medical Services team for the Football for Heroes match.
In Paul’s 20 years serving with the Army he has been on operational tours in Oman, Iraq, Bosnia and Kosovo.

This from Godalming Town's website - dated October 5th 2015 :--
It is with regret that we announce that Paul Dale has resigned from First Team management set up.
Paul had the following to say:
“Can I take this opportunity to thank Andy, the players and all involved with the club and for the privilege of working with the first team. Due circumstances beyond our control, it is with a heavy heart, I have resigned from my position as first team coach.
Heading into the third season with the Gs, I can honestly say it’s been a pleasure to work at such a great club, surrounded with good and well meaning people. All involved work tirelessly, giving up their time, give freely their expertise and make everyone welcome. Having this opportunity at step 4, working with Andy and Mark (not forgetting Neil), and learning from from these guys has been invaluable for my development.
I hope to see you all again soon I will support from the terrace and share a beer in the bar.”
