S O S

Save our soccer ……… Club.
4th rate league , 4th rate players  and our team is where it belongs . and would struggle in the Combined Counties league.  Today’s performance was dreadful, especially the first half. Hastings thoroughly deserved their win regardless of the dubious penalty. Hastings  Number 3and  number 8 were outstanding for this level of football.

You cannot keep recruiting  4th rate players after 4th rate players,  and  management  teams that match. You cannot blame any of them  if they are recruited into  a structure that is doomed to failure, they can only do  their best with their limited ability.

The Football team is not the club  I have supported all my life, I's a complete shambles!  The last vested  semblance of a football club is the tea bar in the stand, and the club shop which has staggeringly been relegated to  wooden trestle at the turnstiles. There a few individuals who give up a lot of their free time to  keep the  basic services  required to run a football club.  God  bless these poor souls,  you give everything for what in return!

Since 2005 the Football club has deserved everything it stands for today.  Without Investment from which ever source there cannot be change.  Before everyone starts shouting we have the best  budget in the league……How do you know  what the budget is……….and how do you know other team do not have a larger budget. However all of this is totally irrelevant!

As  Buddy, buddy, buddy, , Alan J commented, “Don’t asK Don’t get”. Well Mr AJ go and ask the owner about his investment plans for the Football Team, and making it a proper football club again!

Re: S O S

Nort a problem, really does not matter what I say, or any of the others who post on this forum.  Without fundemental changes on how the club operates  we  can look forward to  a ten years of failure and a club with  a lost soul.

Re: S O S

I am sure I do not need to tell you "Mikem" at the end of the day the football club is just one part of the overall structure of Imperial Field`s, whatever the budget is, is entirely between Mr Adkins and the management team.
As it stand`s I would love  to discuss matters regarding his investment within the football club, and I would suggest that his money could be invested more wisely If he took the advice of people who are still around the club and know far more about football than either, you, or I, and certainly more than he does, but at the end of the day it is his choice and If he can not see that he is not getting value for money then so be it, "Buddy".
No one likes the club in the situation it is in but we are where we are and nothing we can do or say will change that, all we can do is keep turning up, or not if you so wish, and support the team and hope for better times.

Re: S O S

We are all entitled to our opinions "Mikem" that is what this forum is all about.
Who know`s one of these day`s our owner might read the posting`s and it might make him think, that we can not all be wrong.
As a businessman, Mr Adkins has not got where he has because he is stupid, and given time he must sit back and evaluate the separate areas of the business and find weak links, and what is not supplying as much profit to the overall pot as it should be, only then will he realise that with the correct leadership and investment the football club could, and should be the biggest earner in the current set up, and until he does we just have to run with it, or action the other choice, which is to stop coming.
We do have a choice!

Re: S O S

Sadly, we are not going to improve as a club with Adkins at the helm and with his present attitude to the football team. The fact that he is a successful businessman is part of the problem. Football at most levels of the game does not make money, it loses it and that goes against all of Adkins instincts. Despite this, I think promotion out of this division is possible, but Adkins has to listen to someone who knows about football and put an experienced Ryman level manager in charge. Most fans would settle for getting out of Ryman South and be a strong Ryman Premier team, any more than that would require proper money and Adkins would certainly not put that in.

Re: S O S

Mikem we keep falling in the same trap ! its because we care about the club but we (both) have to get into the habit of remembering Adkins doesnt care . He onl;y mentions making the club a community one in an effort to persuade people to come and spend their money . We mugs pay on the turnstile to line his pockets not as we hope for, investment in the first team . I think thats what Alanj is referring to in the choices we have as sad as it is. Unless he franchises the first team turnstile and bar takings it will stay as it is . ......now theres a thought a Franchise !!!! that could work.

Re: S O S

Unfortunately Mike I am one of those sad people who have to get my daily fix of all things "Tooting" so between games I get it from here.
Apart from the constant moaning regarding the management / owner set up, most of the time it is quite entertaining, and long may that continue.
If, like me you look at other clubs forums, you will find that our`s is one of the busiest, which must mean we have more supporters who care and take an interest in the clubs day to day running, this must be a healthy situation to be in, no one could ever say we are complacent.

Re: S O S

Oh Ollifehere, so seeing 100-150 spectators in the ground (not all paying customers) makes you think that Steve A can pay the footie wages, the refg team expenses, my vast stewarding salary and all the other match day expenses and still 'line his pockets'.
I thought we had put that fallacy to bed ages ago.

Re: S O S

Bondy, some people do not want to see the truth, it must be obvious to everyone that taking the whole concept that is Imperial Fields, football is no money spinner, the one good reason for Mr Adkins to keep funding, in my opinion, must be for funding from various sports bodies etc. to finance the various improvements which were mooted last season, I do not mean this to be a critisism just what appears to me to be  a good  reason for his funding the team. One thing I do not believe Mr. Adkins to be, is a philanthropist, he is a hard nosed business man first.
