Open training and Q&A session tomorrow...

From Frank Wilson;

We would like to hold an open
training session then a Q&A session on Tuesday (tomorrow) and invite the fans/members committee and whoever else wants to come down to meet with the new coach Paul and myself and the new & existing squad. We will put on a session as normal but it will give people the opportunity to see us train, see what we do and observe. We are making some very positive & effective changes and recent games have showed that and I think it would be a good way to integrate the club and let people see what we do. Training to be held as usual 8-9:30pm on the back 3G pitch.
we all appreciate the support of the fans and club and we would like the opportunity to hold an exhibition training session.

Frank

Re: Open training and Q&A session tomorrow...

Mmmm - a bit too short on the old notice stakes I'm afraid.
Delay 'till Thursday and there might be more takers but I expect Thursday is a pre-match session though.

I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left !

I will probably be going and maybe I'll try to report the proceedings on Twitter - if I can type fast enough.

Re: Open training and Q&A session tomorrow...

TT considering the directness and importance of your questions, I am somewhat surprised you would trust the asking of them to somebody else, surely they are better put by yourself.

Yeah, except his true identity would be revealed to an already suspecting public.

You could never level that accusation at "Bondy" Endo.

Re: Open training and Q&A session tomorrow...

It would be good to know who in the last three weeks have left the squad, who are injured and how long we have our loanees for.  Isn't this the basic information the supporters should be told by the manager?

Re: Open training and Q&A session tomorrow...

I agree with that - its the bare minimum that supporters should be told about.  We are the worst in the league for that sort of info.

It now looks like I won't be able to make the Q&A but hopefully somebody will put that to the manager.

Re: Open training and Q&A session tomorrow...

It was a reasonable event.  But it was more of an informal discussion rather than an organised Q&A.  However, I was a bit disappointed by the turn out - probably less than 20 supporters.  And most of them were probably of the more conservative wing.  So actually I think Frank got quite an easy ride from the questioners - including myself.  So maybe Frank would be prepared to do something similar again in the future - but perhaps a slightly more structured meeting.  And maybe Paul Dale could be involved.

As I said, it was a very cordial meeting and as such there weren't too many awkward questions.  The early part of the session focussed on Frank's views of why certain player have this season - and there were no real suprises in his comments.

Then there was a longish discussion about the current players and what would be their best positions and what sort of formation would suit the team etc.  Again - no big exclusives, but I did get the overall impression that individual players wouldn't be accommodated to the detriment of the overall team philosophy.

And finally, Frank admitted that work commitments prevented him seeing as many Academy games as he would like, and has to rely on Ryan's reports to keep up to date on who is performing well.  But in any case, he feels that it is a very big jumpr from Academy to 1st team and would prefer it if there was an U21 or reserve team to help bridge the gap for the Academy players.

At which point the meeting concluded.  So - no dramas and no major rows - sorry!

Re: Open training and Q&A session tomorrow...

That's very strange, so you're telling us that Tiny Terror, or to give him his real name Dave, the gay, black, Arsenal fan, who has supported Tooting for 30 years, who likes to take it up the jacksy wasn't there giving Frank a good grilling about his suspect recruitment policy of only signing players from lower league clubs ( Hampton & Richmond, Farnborough, Carshalton, Whitehawk, Staines, Causels ) notwithstanding, then Endo ? How peculiar, he said he was going to, but then again he pretended to be at Tilbury on Saturday and he wasn't. I know of 3 Arsenal fans who WERE at Tilbury but none of them are black, or gay, or called Dave, or like to take it up the jacksy ( I hope) and at least 2 of the three know how to spell Casuals.
