The Ryman South Web Pages site lists our second goalscorer as Barrington ! Really ? Looked suspiciously like Baxter to me but I suppose they are very, very similar.
No argument about Moles first penalty, it looked like Simmo caught the bleedin' thing from where I was stood. Couldn't comment on the second one, did anyone get a good view of it ? Looked 50/50ish. They were certainly screaming for it.
Ashley at right back ? Square peg, round hole. If Owen Roberts can't get a game when we've released our best centre back his only hope is if he's cup tied in the LSC then he might get a start against Harrow.
Good to see Ray Lewington there last night and even better to see Gary Walker.
If anyone had any lingering hopes of us miraculously making the play-offs you can now put them to bed, we aint going nowhere. We can put all our eggs in the London Senior Cup basket.

Yes - not only that, but I felt we were outmuscled in midfield, especially in the 2nd half. And when you look at our midfield quartet they are all a little bit pretty. You could say that we missed the defensive abilities of Robinson in his deep midfield role.
But what Molesey showed, and to an extent Hastings, is that they know how to win a football match. You don't have to be the best team, or play the best football. You just need to know how to win. And that's what promotion teams do. And its what we don't. Even when we fell behind, did we lay siege to their goal? No. Have we won a game this season when we haven't played well? No. We need to find a way to do that.

If the ball was screaming at great pace towards my solar plexis I think my arms would have involuntarily come in to afford myself some protection. And that is with the buffer of my 8-10 pack!
I also had a perfect view of second pen.
Attacker and defender locked together side by side as they move in to the box.
Defender, on inside, desperately trying to stop attacker cutting across him and just about managing it so the ball was on his side.
And it bounced up and hit his arm that was sticking out to the side.
We would have been screaming for both as cast iron pens.
2nd half was a perfect example of just why we need a Lee Hall type to bring some steel to the centre of midfield/ area in front of back 4.
Countless balls dropped in to our midfield without an aerial challenge and they rampaged at and over us.
Fully agree Endo. Need to know/learn how to win ugly, especially against the bottom teams.

Didn't agree 2nd pen,but does it matter I think they have got 3rd anyway.I said on way up,hope he doesn't play Ashley at right back.Needed him in that midfield in second half.when they had a lot of the ball the 2 up front for Moles were to strong for us.I liked the play of there number 6,don't know his name, but was driving through our midfield. Was amazed at the the end we still had 11 players.Need to learn the ref right or wrong won't change his mind.Again Serg did one or two nice things, but we needed a fighter out there. Why can't we play Roberts? No point him being in squad. He's big and strong and won't get experience getting cold on bench.Sol would then be back at right back with Ash in central mid.Put Jordan out wide, and drop Serg.We can't carry people. It's no good playing nice football without results????

How many headed goals have we scored this season, and what is our leagues average per team?Just something I was thinking about when I should have been asleep.

Off the top of my head, if you'll pardon the pun. Busy's winner at Ramsgate, Chendlik at Walton Casuals or did he kick it , Pykes bullet at Dorking, Chace from Ashley's cross in a recent home game I can't remember the opposition, Simmo from 2 inches at W&H. Endo will probably name about another fourteen now.
Good point though casey. Our centre backs have got about 4 between them all season and 2 of those were Cheadle free kicks on the first day of the season. So the only header was Simmo at W&H and to be truthfull that might have bundled in off his shoulder.

No, I can just recall 1 more when Mike Salako headed in a deflected shot. It was the headed equivalent of a scuffed shot! Which basically describes all of our headed goals apart from Pykes & O'Neill.

So we make that 5 casey. Whether that is above or below the league average is very difficult/bloody immpossible to say mate. I don't think OPTA keep stats on things like that at our level of the pyramid.
I seem to remember Sittingbourne having a few big old lumps at the back so I'm willing to bet £5 we don't score with a header (scuffed or otherwise) on Saturday. Any takers ?

It's not just centre backs.I'm not saying we should look for couple of 6'8" midfielders, but 5ish doesn't sound good.I think Jake is a great forward and will get goals. What is it 17 in league, but we need more goals from other areas of the pitch.Thinking ahead,if we are to challenge the best teams, and get ourselves out of this division. We Can't play our way out, sometimes you some players who will just get stuck in.Think we needed that on Tuesday.??.
