Congratulations

Congratulations to AFC Wimbledon on their win today, and a well deserved one it was, considering how far they finished behind Bristol in the league, points wise, it just shows what can be achieved, when you think not that long ago a group of supporters got together to form the club, it is a credit to them what they have achieved in a comparatively short space of time.
Just shows the rest of us what is possible if you want it hard enough.
I know there are those supporters who will not agree with me, but I for one can only admire what they have achieved.
I bet their will be one hell of a party at Kingsmeadow tonight.

Re: Congratulations

I was at today's match...as a neutral I hasten to add (though I did see one other T&M regular wearing what looked suspiciously like an AFC replica shirt). AFC thoroughly deserved to win. Plymouth offered nothing. Great atmosphere from both sets of fans. Amazing to think it was only the 2004-05 season that we were drawing with AFC home and away.

Re: Congratulations

I was also there - as a former Wimbledon supporter right back to those seasons in the 70's and 80's when they jumped backwards and forwards between doing well in the 4th division and then badly in the 3rd all the way through to the Selhurst Park days.
Pretty dire 1st half with Plymouth strangely toothless and AFC needing a lesson from T&M in passing the ball to teammates along on the floor.  Game badly needed a goal.
2nd half much more entertaining and fantastic result for the cub.

Re: Congratulations

Over the years the Terrors V's the Dons was always the highlight of the season and great rivalry with huge crowds attending the matches, especially those held over the holiday period.. Wimbledon went on their merry way to  climb the leagues, and win the FA cup and then collapse completely, and then be resurrected and reincarnated from the dead to now be in the Football league div 1. We are know the story behind the Dons, all this happening when the Terrors have been steadily going into  decline over the years, and now are almost an unknown entity. .

Alan J, just read the words you have written, never has there been a  truer statement.,
