T&M 2 Horsham 1

Two first half goals from Billy Dunn then Horsham pulled one back with an opportunistic shot from outside the box which led to a nervy final 20 minutes. But we held on for three points and go top of the league. Tremendously entertaining and a good crowd. Our standout players were Quincy Rowe in central defence and Claudio Hoban on the wing.

Re: T&M 2 Horsham 1

Couldn't agree more with the above...Quincy was excellent.

Claudio also looks like a very good signing, he is very good on the wing.
Billy also deserves a mention, great first half and the first goal was outstanding. I hope that he is starting to convince a few on here who are not sure about him. I've always said he is a great player when he wants to be, and it looks like Frank has him playing and interested. Long may it continue. He settled the game for us in a 10-15 minute period.

Matte Pierson made another excellent save from a volley...he looks a lot more composing this season and deserves his place.

One more mention for Karembo who played at left back and has filled in well in Tenny's absence...especially as he is a right footer naturally. I guess Frank will put in the boy we signed at left back until Tenny comes back, so Cameron will be unlucky if he loses his place.

We faded as a team in the second half and it ended up closer than it should have been but 3 points is 3 points, nice one lads!

Re: T&M 2 Horsham 1

There's something in that. Successful teams in this division manage to win by hook or by crook. They get the last minute winner, they hold on in games that they shouldn't and get points when not playing well.

And today, we lost a bit of composure in the 2nd half when put under a bit of pressure. And I think we should have played it a bit different when they had the man sent off.

But at the same time we showed some character and deserved the win

I'll take the same on Tuesday

Re: T&M 2 Horsham 1

Loved Hoban, but deeply worried about the defence. Jordan Wilson was particularly concerning, not just because of his frequent disappearances into midfield (fine if is tactical and cover is there - which today was not the case), but also his tendency to stop dead if he's beaten and decides that he deserves a free kick, rather than chase back and win the ball.
I'm a fan of Jordan, but only if he plays where he's supposed to.

Re: T&M 2 Horsham 1

A win is a win I suppose, despite us looking less than convincing at times. Winning games builds confidence so we should be pretty pleased with our unbeaten start to the season.
I wasn't too pleased to see Robbo go off, he's been our most consistant performer for quite a while now and whats going on with Billy Dunn, had his best game, got two goals and was still subbed again.
Hoban on the wing had a decent game, but I,m not a fan of playing wide men on their wrong side, I felt he looked a bit awkward and he would be more comfortable out on the left.
Frank seems to have had words with several players who like to hang on to the ball and take on the opposition single handed. The six step overs, trip over the ball, concede possession scenario seems to have reduced in the last couple of games and the first time cross from the main culprit Roberts resulted in our second goal. So more of that please Frank.

Re: T&M 2 Horsham 1

A good win,and I'm very happy to be top.I too was surprised Robinson went off,but it was near end.He is our best long passer and best defensive midfielder.I don't see us winning games 1-0,our midfield is too attack minded.I still don't like Jordan at right back.Billy Dunn had great game, but doesn't do a lot of work when we don't have ball,so I guess that's why he is taken off.Quincy played very well, and I hope keeps his place. The 2 wide guys are very dangerous. At times Roberts is unplayable, must be a nightmare to mark.A very nervous end to a game we should of had under control, and credit to Horsham for that. They never gave in.A good crowd too.Lets hope some of them come again. Its going to be fun.
