In Tooting and Mitcham Wanderers' first official matchday programme there are two references ( both in bold print ) about Raynes Park Vale playing against TM United ( not Tooting & Mitcham, but TM United). It would appear these references were partly to inform people of  the fixture and partly as a thinly veiled dig at the rebranding  of the Tooting & Mitcham United monicker. In exactly the same way as Spurs adopted the Y**s or Gillingham adopted The Pikey's to dilute what were once derogatory terms of abuse from opposing supporters, in Mr Adkins' programme notes on Tuesday his opening gambit was '' Good evening and welcome to TM United ''. He went on to mention the '' TM Academy '' '' TM Members club '' and two further references to TM United.

What is so bloody difficult about calling ourselves Tooting and Mitcham ???
