If the Footballing Gods came to me right now and offered me a point, I'd take it.
Having said that, if they'd offered me a point before Saturday's game I'd have taken it and look what happened there !

A point would take us up 3 or 4 places in the table. And I'm getting a sick and tired of being 2nd bottom! The players deserve a little shunt up the table for the recent performances.

I can't feel too despondent as I thought the lads put in a decent shift tonight. Chace went close early on with a shot which flew just wide. Thought Juevan played well tonight and could and probably should have got his name on the scoresheet in the first half. As much as I like Chace, I didn't feel confident about him taking the penalty. Unfortunately my feelings were vindicated. Personally thought Wedgie should have stepped up to take it. Not Chace's finest hour tonight. Appearently his first yellow was for persistent fouling, so the writing was on the wall when he was penalised again 10 mins later. Six red cards this season and each one has cost us the game. But even after going behind, we didn't let our heads drop. Young Dominic is a real find and I thought he was superb and the ever reliable Matte Pierson was also excellent between the sticks and nearly come up with a goal right at the death.
We should go to Billericay in the Trophy on Saturday with absolutely no fear. I'm looking forward to it. Hoping to see more of the Bog End Army there than there was for the league game.

Such a shame to lose last night. I think that three wins in a row against top half opposition would have been such a statement to the league, especially after our start, that we're really up for it and determined to remain in this league.
The loss hides the general composition of the game. Until the sending off, we were all over them, although they did create some chances themselves, granted.
A poor penalty as Chace leant back - but like Gary has said, everyone misses them now and again. I think we should commend his confidence in winning the penalty and wanting to take it. (Who is our designated penalty taker though??)
But ultimately Chace lost us the game! Simple as that

Don't think we're blessed with penalty takers. Dunn scored against Dulwich and and also scored a couple last season. But towards the 2nd half of last season, Jordan Wilson seemed to be our penalty taker with 4 out of 4. Bassett & Taurean Roberts also scored pens for us last season and I also remember Cunningham putting one into the Wandle from the spot in one of the county cup games.

I agree with his point entirely, but i'm not sure i agree with his decision to take that public.
I guess he knows Chace as a character better than I, and how that would be received by Chace. So perhaps I'm in no position to judge, but definitely curious to be so public about a player. Hopefully it has the right impact!
