I have been reading the recent posts on the this forum with great interest
and have come to the conclusion that we all want Tooting & Mitcham Utd to
be successful and a team we can be proud of.
The great work of the volunteers who have pushed and promoted this club via social media, posters, stickers, word of mouth, etc. from
the beginning of the season could all be undone.
I keep on seeing the same football mantras being said,
"We need an experience manager/coach" " Atkins Do the right thing" "too many young players" "not good enough for the Bostik south central league"(really?!!) etc. etc.
Quite a few "experienced" managers at the Top Table (Premier league) failed last season and are struggling the start of this season.
On the flip side there are some younger "inexperienced" doing quite well.
Also To my knowledge there have been no sackings, mutual consent or relieved of duties senarios at the Top 2 Tables.
I certainly won't be doing the David Pleat gig of delight and jumping into The River Wandle if there are changes so early in the season.
Six league games have been played and yes, the team has underperformed in many of those games. I just hope we don't get to the stage like last season when one or two fans start shouting abuse at our own players and then expect them to start playing well. That is one thing I could never do, by all means do that to the opposition players.
It's good to see there have been some recent signings, including a wise older head which should in theory help to younger players be more disciplined and decisive on the pitch.
I just want to watch football!
