The Demise of the Terrors

Known as the lilywhites before they rebranded and became the Terrors during/after the great cup runs of 50’s, the team has now hit rock bottom. After reaching the giddy heights of the 1st Round of the vase yesterday they were dispatched by a team at the very lowest level of the pyramid. A level which Tooting are trying to avoid.
How has the team come to be so poor, and drifting around in a vacuum for many years? The current term Terror’s is totally outdated, totally embarrassing and should be quietly drooped. The team is just a name, the club has gone!

A statement was made during 2005. "The challenge is to make Tooting & Mitcham United FC the best semi-professional club in the land, one built on sound foundations of good practice in all matters!! (You can’t make this up lol) to date, they not even the best non-league team Merton".

Re: The Demise of the Terrors

Another negative post from the site Admin😤

It has taken the club 94 years to reach these depths and I think that we should all throw our hats in the air, rattle our rattles like there is no tomorrow, down our hot cocoa, and shout out a huge hoorah to Mr. Adkins and his board for bringing us this far 🥳🎉🎊

Re: The Demise of the Terrors

High Ev,
Some bed time reading for you.
I beg to differ; the name associated with Tooting Football Club has been alive for 189 years. I have just finished my cocoa and have found my black and white rattle, and I thought I would write this comment before I hit the sack early!

Although small in stature, there was a giant of a man Jack (John) Beard who kept a record of every Tooting game until is sad passing. He became the owner of the Forrester Arms (Now the Antelope) which became the HQ or the club, before and after the so-called amalgamation. His drive to make the club the best club in Amateur team and surviving 2 world Wars is a tribute this great man. He passed away in1951 never to his witness his dreams come true. The fall of the football team over the years has been tragic with many mistakes made, and a lack of leadership which has led to today’s sad situation.

Over the last 25 years Football has changed beyond belief, most of the successful clubs today have adapted to the modern version which is required to keep a team at the top level.
Amen😂😊
