A disappointing afternoon for the Terrors with Thatcham well worth the 3 points in the end. It was a pretty even first half with Tooting not able to score with a couple of half chances that came our way. Thatcham instead took their chance when a poor defensive clearance gifted them a goal that sent them into the halftime break with a slim advantage.
Thatcham doubled their lead early in the second half and from then on they seemed to get stronger while we lost any confidence that we could get back in the game. Apart from a superbly well taken goal from our sub who had just come on, we offered very little as an attacking threat and their keeper had a very easy second 45 minutes.
The two Thatcham centre backs dealt with our puny attacks without breaking sweat and it was the visitors who could easily have increased their lead towards the end of the game. Very poor from us and no excuses.
The league table is not good reading and the next game against Sutton Common Rovers just shows how far the club has fallen in recent times. Lose that and there's going to be some very unhappy Terrors fans around.
