Merstham who had a surprise loss at home to newly promoted Southall visit Imperial Fields tomorrow (16th) for Tooting’s first home league game of the season. Undergoing a complete re-building process both players and  management, will Tooting take advantage of a Merstham team trying to gel together during the early part of the season. Tooting with one loss already under their belt, this is a must win if they are going to get automatic promotion out of the dreadful and pathetic league..

Merstham were were beaten 1-2 by Southall , but. Merstham made a 55th minute dramatic substitution with the introduction of Raheem Sterling-Parker, who and immediately changed the shape of the game, with his attacking prowess, and seems to be star in the making. I assume he will start the game Tuesday evening. I bet the agents will be rubbing their dirty hands together!

Verdict a home win!

Home win would be much welcomed

Did a load of the old Carshalton players go to Merstham? The should, in theory, be a decent side.

Saw over the weekend that Danny Bassett has moved on to Cray Wanderers. Seems like a strange one to go from a half decent premier side to a perenial struggler...unless he lives next door...

 Hi Andy,

Although Cray Wanderers have been perennial failures they always seem to stay in the Isthmian Premier.  They are backed by property developers who having been splashing the cash in recent seasons and keeping the club alive. After sharing Bromley’s ground for a number of years, where they are not wanted, they will move to their new ground on the A20 in Eltham which is being funded as part of housing development (sounds familiar) and will move in next season.

Ex Bromley manager Neil Smith as been appointed manager this season in the hope of gaining promotion, and perhaps they see Danny as an asset to achieve this ambition!

The new ground will a short distance down the A20, also  in  Eltham, to Cray Valley Paper Mills who seem to be having a lot of success after splashing a lot of cash as well.

Unlike Leatherhead

I would have thought they would have been a pre-season promotion favourite, although don't know how many players they lost. Also a bit surprised Westfield are banging the goals in.
