TheBogEnd / Abandoned games

Racking my brains to think back to any other Tooting games that have been abandoned and I can only recall 2. We had a cup game against Wimbledon called off while we were winning 1-0 and eventually lost the replayed game on pens. The only other game that I can remember was away to Hayes when Cyrille Regis was in their team. I remember he came down with a bit of a bump on the rock hard icy pitch and the ref called it off. It was 0-0 at the time and the replay was also 0-0.

Any more?

I remember a game being abandoned back in the late 50’s, early 60’s at home to Walthamstow Avenue. I think it was at the tail end of the season when a huge rain storm caused a massive lake in front of the Sandy Lane stand. Perhaps Ian Bullock could enlighten us on this fact?

From Dave Irons :
Away to Abingdon in the. 90's Paul Loughline scored 2 screamers then broke his leg, that finished his career.
1-3 up and fog appeared. Game replayed, we lost. A few Terrors made day of it and went on a pub crawl through the Oxfordshire town where Bog End Tim was involved in his 1st ever chant.

1997 Westfield h (SSC) 0-0 (won the replay 2-0)
2010 Wimbledon a (LSC) 1-0 (lost the replay on pens)
2018 Molesey a 1-0 ....

There was a fog abandonment not long after kick off at an evening match at Hampton. Can't remember date or competition.

I remember struggling up to Hayes by bus, took nearly four hours with the Christmas traffic. Arrived at exactly 3:30, got settled behind the goal and two minutes later it was called off!
