Re: Relegation zone creeping nearer!

For the historians of this Great Club a question, has Tooting & Mitcham ever been in such a lowly level similar to this current situation, with seemingly no hope of a change of Managerial and ownership ?
And secondly is there any likely candidates ownership and/or managerially who  given the opportunity ,could take over to give some hope in getting out of this mess?

Re: Relegation zone creeping nearer!

I guess after my last posting there is no decent answer to my questions, understandable to those who comment on this site, the club is in a hopeless place physically in the league and in its structure, heart and soul ! Can this now ever change to the heyday seasons, I live in hope!?

Re: Relegation zone creeping nearer!

Hello steptoe unfortunatly i am feeling the same as you in the dreadful position the football club finds itself in but there really is nothing we as loyal supporters can do about the situation the reality is we have an owner who talks big when it comes to the club becoming the best non league team in the country but does absolutely jack Rubbish when it comes to action if he did have other intentions he would start by getting rid of the two hopeless clowns he has in charge these two will take us down into the combined counties and this will be the legacy that steve adkins will leave us with. You have no shame adkins or you would sell up and clear off.

Re: Relegation zone creeping nearer!

The Sutton game looks to be a real 6 pointer when it eventually gets played. I've just looked at the fixture list and it could get worse for us. Sutton Common Rovers are playing Stains and Chalfont in the coming weeks whilst we have teams that are chasing promotion.

Absolutely Andy Mc. A disastrous mess with no sign of improvement, change of personnel on many aspects of this great club and a deep feeling of gloom !

Re: Relegation zone creeping nearer!

I believe that Dontai is close to a return after a long term injury whilst Ahkeem Belford turned out for the U23's last night.

I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left !

Barely 10 minutes into todays away game and already one nil down. Absolute shame!

Depressing after this expected loss, at least Westfield lost as well, but still a grim position to be in.

Re: Relegation zone creeping nearer!

It looks like despair has now set in. I appreciate that changing/sacking/leaving with mutual consent is never pleasant for managers etc but to do nothing is WORSE. I accept that it likely not to have changed fortunes now  due to numerous problems with this great club ,but at least it is an attempt to inject some hope, spirit and positive action to  lift and save this great Club from its demise!

Re: Relegation zone creeping nearer!

Will Toots pick up any points this month? Daunting prospect it would appear! Just thinking back to the early 70’s onwards when I dipped in and out of my interest in the club, this current situation has to be the worse ever sadly.

Re: Relegation zone creeping nearer!

To think in my lifetime the memories of Tooting and Mitcham locking horns and beating the likes of Swindon Town,Leatherhead, Carshalton, Dulwits,Billericay Town, leading Crystal Palace at Sandy Lane in the F A cup, to name a few. Now what! Hold your heads in shame to the powers at be !
And of course The Nottingham Forest FA cup run !!!

Re: Relegation zone creeping nearer!

Steptoe, your feelings about the club history has to be admired, but it means “bog all” to the club which exists today. They also have the temerity to use it in the history notes passed onto other clubs to publish in their match day programmes.  At least we enjoyed it, something today’s club is light years away from achieving again, if ever!.

Since 2005: The challenge is to make Tooting & Mitcham United FC the best semi-professional club in the land, one built on sound foundations of good practice in all matters!! (You can’t make this up lol)

Re: Relegation zone creeping nearer!

Toots demise in now an almost “Fait Accompli” as they lost today and Sutton Common Rovers win . Guess there is still some hope with the remaining fixtures but the damage to this club seems to have been done.

Re: Relegation zone creeping nearer!

Toots now in the relegation zone, Sutton Common Rovers win well away, the only saving Grace was Westfield losing. Onwards and downwards it would seem !

Re: Relegation zone creeping nearer!

Toots have lost and Sutton beat Basingstoke (who beat us last week) 3-0.  That's seven that they have scored in two games.

We are in the deep Rubbish.

Re: Relegation zone creeping nearer!

Lost again today very much expected the management have not got a clue 4 new players today how many is that we have used now these 2 managers should have a good look in the mirror and realise they are both totally useless and resign this of course will not bother our useless owner these 2 jokers are exactly what suits him but he is a total tosser as far as tooting is concerned.

A total Tosser ?
I am sorry Daniel but that made me laugh so much I sprayed coke over Mrs Walker. I think even Steve understands that this so called Football (giveaway of players ) philosophy has not worked. I watched the brilliant Iaash Jones today play against Chelsea.  Tooting got a mention on TV again but if only the football community knew that we gave him away for free. A long with Hady , Zack , Sam and all the others.
This can not continue.  Playing kids in hope they are the next money making adventure for FW Consultants really can't happen next season.   I am sure Steve is so close to having a great football club.  Every young players needs to be on contract,  if they don't like it then try your luck at another club. I have no problem players going for free but as soon as they start playing first team matches at Conference Level or above compensation needs to be paid to Tooting and Mitcham. The level of compensation needs to be consistent with the levels they are playing at. To have Jones playing Championship and maybe Premiership football next season is a complete insult to any Tooting fan who has to watch his or her team at the bottom of this Crap league .
It is obvious to anyone that cares that the current management are brilliant at developing young players and that is their talent.  They have upset most senior player at some level or other this season with their childish decision making.  All we hear every short video. The players didn't follow the plan. The players this the players that. The fact is they are not experienced enough at this level. They have lost the dressing room and if we are to stay up we need a change now. Look at K's YouTube channel or Dorking's YouTube and how these managers react to losing.
Please Steve make a change.  🙏🙏 So many of us want to return and support our team. !

Re: Relegation zone creeping nearer!

Gary just what makes you think adkins cares a jot this is all part of his master plan when the club is relegeted he will then say he wont fund a team that has dropped so far down it just gives him the excuse to get rid of something he sees as an obstacle to what he really wants. The man is a total tosser

Re: Relegation zone creeping nearer!

I am not getting involved in name calling . I know him personally to speak too.
Only time will tell us of his true intentions.
I have said above we need a change of management but nobody except them knows  what conditions they are working under. They might have so little budget that any player coming to Tooting doesn't feel very motivated.Last time I went to a home game the team didn't even have proper water bottles.
Who knows what's really going on?

Re: Relegation zone creeping nearer!

I too was watching the Chelsea  Fa cup game and ISAIAH JONES mentioned and TOOTING AND MITCHAM , so much so that I played that commentary back several times reliving great memories of this club echoing “ Tooting and Mitcham are giant killers” after beating Swindon, “High flying Tooting and Mitcham” in heading their respective league etc. Such media Candy that made you feel good supporting this club.
But with a heavy heart it now feels hopeless, yes I am sure there are many factors as already aired over the years about this clubs structure, ownership, management etc but the feeling that nothing seemingly has been done to at least attempt some revival surely will be slammed in the history books.
Yes Toots may Rise again but the damage is deep and cutting and may take a very long long time for the wounds to heal !

Re: Relegation zone creeping nearer!

A precious point against the league champions is a great mood lifter and hopefully can be built upon for the rest of the fixtures to pull Toots out of the relegation zone . Well done to all involved.
