Only 80% boring this week! We started strongly and played well and deserved our Sol Pinnock lead. Then the usual pattern kicked in. Silly short ball going short or going nowhere and the wings ingnored. Sittingbourne did not get back into the match through playing well: we let them in though playing badly. A shoddy loose ball in their half lead to the first goal and the now familiar free header gave them the lead.
The second half was going the same way until we lifted it in the last ten minutes resulting in Sol Pinnock getting his second with a sweet shot from outside of the box which sneaked in past tiny tears, sorry, the Sittingbourne 'keeper just inside of the right post.
The Sittingbourne 'keeper spat his dummy out a few times, upset with Sol blocking him kicking getting him booked. Not nice but very funny.
Walton Casuals losing to Maidstone means that we are now safe.

Starnge game really. We created a lot of chances early on, and I thought we'd probablyrun out comfortable winners. But as Ev pointed out, a corner from which they won the first and second headers gave them an eqauliser on half time. A good finish saw them take the lead, but we still looked like scoring.till the last 10 minutes or so when our play became really scrappy. But perversely, thats when Pinnock struck his equaliser from outside the box.
But there was a moment near the end of the game which summed up our season. A corner went right to the far post where Lawrence and Wilson Dennis were waiting, but neither actually went for the header. Tim reckons we haven't scored from a corner all season, and I don't see any reason to disbelieve him. Apart from when Thompson was playing, we just haven't been aggressive in the air in either box. And there have been countless times when we have let the high ball bounce in our area.
