Despite winning both their games over the weekend, Whitstable have been relegated. If they could only have replicated their Easter and Tooting form, they could have been champions!
A good away trip lost though.

One of the nicer towns to visit without a shadow. Peacehaven will surely join them soon ( I'll be sorry to see them go ) and Walton & Hersham look doomed too ( The only thing I'll miss about them is their cheeseburgers, very tasty ). Dropping out of the Ryman Premier could be Lewes and Farnborough, 2 good trips if it happens. Hartley Wintney look like securing promotion from the Combined Counties, another nice trip.

I spoke to one of the Whitstable Directors back when they visited us.
I quote "No, we won't get relegated, we're far too good for that!"
Ooooops !! Famous last words.

Now, I've never been to Walton & Hersham, but from what I can gather their ground is pretty ramshackle. Can't be any more so than the time I went to Chessington & Hook United (and the game was postponed with no warning)........
Hartley Wintney is a strange one. On the A30 past Camberley - my mum used to take me through there on trips to Blackbushe Sunday Market (only the best for Sir Plumpy). The nearest station is actually Winchfield, but it's a 1.5 mile walk on a national speed limit road with no footpath. There is no bus route from the station to Hartley Wintney. There used to be, but Stagecoach said it wasn't worth their while to run it. The only other public transport option is a one an hour bus from Fleet station and it's the sort of bus route that finishes at 6pm so it's very tight to get back again......
Or could be a coach jobbie Boggie
Yes - last bus back 19:16 (I'll double check this I'm due course as the timetable has 2013 on it)
Forget that - the route doesn't even exist anymore, but the last bus is still at 19:45.....can't go too mad in the bar it seems......

Sorry Plumpers, I should have said Hartley Wintney is a nice trip if you are a spoilt, pampered little git like myself and get chauffer driven from Belmont in a luxury air conditioned top of the range comfy motor. It'll be a league game anyway mate, so I don't know why you're concerning yourself

Don't you think Hartley Wintney will go into the Southern League?

Unless it's a poor April Fool gag, Hartley Witney have decided not to seek promotion even if they win their league.

Alex, it may not have been made clear in your dictionary but if the scores are tied at the end of 90 minutes tomorrow night there will not be extra time, there won't be a penalty shoot out, nor will the game have to be replayed at Molesey. Each team will receive 1 league point and we all move on to the next game. It is called a 'Draw'.Alien as it may appear to you, this is what happens in 'League Games'. Once the ref blows his whistle to signal full time we can all retire to the bar and watch 'Italian John' present Chace with his man of the match award.

Crikey, had to buy some Nurofen after reading that lot, a completely different world from the heady heights of the world famous London Senior Cup.......
Anyhow, it'll be the first time I have seen Molesey at home, I went to Sutton Uniteds ground one very bleak evening about four years ago to watch them get beat in the Surrey Senior Cup - then went to see Molesey at their place playing Folkestone Invicta in an FA cup prelim with old Fretty joining me for a laugh. I liked the Molesey fans, they seemed a good lot, putting a brave face on it while in the legendary Combined Counties League. On both accounts I met a bloke called Chris, and an elderly gentleman who frequently went to watch ice hockey in Guildford, friendly bunch. Me being one of the four people behind the goal at Gander Green Lane. Was pleased for Molesey when they came back up......
......which, getting back to the thread title, Whitstable may do one day.....
