    Cinderford refuse promotion

    I see that Cinderford have refused promotion to the Southern League Premier despite winning the SW division.  It sounds like they have had some problems at committee level, and have decided that they can't afford to play 1 level higher.  Personally, I think it makes a mockery of our fantastic pyramid system and if a team refuses promotion I think they should be demoted 1 level.

    Northern League teams annually refuse promotion from step 5 to step 4 partly because of the extra travel and partly because they want to continue playing in (and winning) the FA Vase.
