Three bad defensive errors cost us all three points. Sort it out at the back and we'll be in with a chance of going up.
Claudio Hoban looks a real find. Excellent delivery from corners. We just need someone to get on the end of them.

There we were talking about going top if Carshalton lost.
Then disappointed when they came back from two down to level against Chipstead.
Now I look at the results/table to see they did lose but because the bigger boys in the division won with cricket scores and we could not hang on to a win, despite being given every opportunity, we are only 10th!!!!
At the risk of being even more boring than usual I am gong to repeat myself.
If you are a defender and the ball needs to be cleared from danger then toe poke, thump it, put it out of the park.
We can't keep shooting ourselves in the foot like this.
If you kept on making the same mistakes in your job...........unless you worked in the public sector and belonged to a union of course.

MR BOND I agree with you. We were getting caught in possession in our third of the field. There was nobody to back up the player on the ball, no angles just watching. We have to address the situation sooner than later, We also need a striker. Mr Bassett is not the answer although he had another tap in. We need somebody that can climb for a ball, somebody with a bit of power. We really need the spine which we have not got.

Sorry Geoff G but I strongly disagree re Bassett. I think he is excellent. He works his ruddy socks off and pulls defenders out of position. This in turn creates a lot more space for our attacking midfielders (e.g. Billy, Ollie Bennett) and wingers. Bassett is a great addition to the squad and fully deserves his place. His hold up play is really good and his movement is good.

Well first of all that's 2 top sides we have played, and got 4 points .If we won't or can't defend then we need to score 3 or 4 goals every game.I agree we need a spine.Matte looked very dodgy today.Midfield is very attack minded, but can they help out in defence?.Thought Bassett and roberts had great games.Felt we should have won,but again we will drop points against other teams .Still early days, and we are better off than last season.Still hopeful

I have to say I can not help but agree with Geoff re. Bertie Bassett, but then think back to when Jake first started with us, he also ran his socks off with little in the way of goals, but look how he finished up, so let us give him a bit more time.
Could not agree more about the "exciting game" but why do we have to be so charitable at the back, two points lost if you ask me!
On a different tack, had a very interesting chat with Paul in the bar, and have a better understanding of what they are looking for in players.I suggested perhaps a "meet the management night at the club" where we can all be better informed, how do others feel about this?

Alan - the meet the manager last season was a good move by Frank. We were having a rotten time but he answered every question put to him. Not a great turn out by the fans though - probably about a dozen.

Who played at centre back yesterday? I presume it was SPB plus either Alimi or Robinson. Either way I thought it was a bit strange that Rowe was on the bench and Smith-Joseph didn't even make the matchday squad.

It was Bash, with Robbo in front of the back four. I also found it odd that Rowe was on the bench. I understand he has just returned from holiday so perhaps considered not match fit?
On the Official TMUFC page it said that Smith-Joseph was selected for the squad.
We gave away two penalties yesterday which was a little disappointing. One completely avoidable when Pierson (who has generally been excellent so shouldn't criticise too much) mis-controlled the ball in no danger and it went out for a corner from which the resulting penalty was given for Robbo hand-ball.
I think if all our centre backs are fit and available I would probably shift Sol PB to right back (move Jordan into midfield), and start with Rowe and Simmo. I think having a naturally left sided centre back is really quite beneficial. I think we'll miss Tenny over the next few weeks...
Our new acquisition Claudio Hoban looked good yesterday, very good set piece and open play delivery. Looked a little lost and off the pace positionally, but that'll come in time.

I think we are very close to being a good team.Im not just having go at defenders,we need to defend as a team.Trouble is it feels like we lost yestaday.

Thank`s Endo, after speaking to Paul, it gave me a different perspective on a couple of players who I was critical of, but who, in my opinion could, and should, be better.
Still feel we are a long way off from finishing in a playoff spot, which I felt at the start of the season was a possibility, but then the injury to Jake cast a shadow over the season, and in my personal opinion the new players who have joined have, so far, have not improved the team , but the season is young and hopefully they will settle in and prove me wrong.
