9 games played and we are (still) top of the league.
Fantastic. Some very exciting games and a great position to be in.
However........our 'Goals Against count is 16. And still no clean sheet.
If we continue to let in 2 goals a game over the season that will be 92 goals.
Chipstead conceded 92 goals last season.
And they missed relegation by just one place.
Rather than every player running with the ball try passing it to teammates.
That means the opponents must work harder to get it back.
If you are a midfielder you can take greater risks because you have a line of teammates to bail you out.
If you are a defender you are that last line. Get rid of the ball if you need to.
If you have the ball high up the pitch but are surrounded by 3 defenders that means two of your teammates have no direct opponent. Perhaps the ball could be played to one of them?
If you are a manager or coach and you see one of your players absolutely refuses to pass the ball to one of his teammates, however well placed, you might consider that needs to be addressed.

Bondy, you need to give the teamtalk before the next match.

Very good point Bondy!Roberts was our constant outlet ball, and he didn't let us down.Tormented their defence all night.I didn't think Claudio had the best of games, and would have brought Leon on for him early in second half.I guess Dunn had a knock?I did think we were all set for clean sheet, but dream on.Points dropped will cost us!!Tough one Saturday, which I Can't make.Lets try a 1-0 win??Will Quincy be fit?Should play if he is.

Not the case oh Godly one? In Frank and Paul I trust.
Your response suggests you did not see what I thought I saw Casey.
Roberts was indeed the No 1 outlet and certain has power to twist the blood of a full back.
I am not sure any manager will ever change the frequency when he gets his head up and decides to pass or deliver.
So we just need to make the most of what he produces and enjoy the dazzle.
Did you find yourself wondering why Claudio looked so dispirited.
Why his shoulders dropped as he trudged back after yet another run wide right to support the attack as it came down the other wing?
Did you notice a single occasion when the winger cut in from the left and ran across the front of the box, drawing numerous defenders towards him, and slipped the ball to the free Claudio?
No you didn't. Not once.

Listening to one of their management team being interviewed, he said that they expected to be hammered, because of where we are in the table plus the inexperience of their team & also only having 2 subs. I agree with "God help us" regarding friendships. The manager needs to look to strenghten the team, either by playing Adriano & also getting a striker. Sorry but Danny Bassett is not the answer.

I am quite new to watching tooting and have seen about 15 games last season and this. I have been reading some of the comments and am amazed at how negative some of the feedback is especially from God help us. Last year Jake was not good enough and you needed a new striker even though he got 31 for the season. This year it's back 4 are poor and need new center halves and new strikers even though the football is terrific and goals are flying in all over the place.

one other thing, a side that plays attacking football will unfortunately leave themselves open and outnumbered at times. This will of course mean that conceding goals will happen but I do agree there is no excuse for conceding from set pieces.

Welcome new boy.You are right that gamble pushing a lot of men forward,so that leaves gaps. Its just getting the balance right.I think Quincy is our best centre back.i also think we all agree Jordon shouldn't play right back, unless he has to.I think Eddie Dines played a good match in midfield on Tuesday, but also played well at right back.while Robinson is out, may be he should stay in the midfield?Think he is more mobile than Lee Hall.M y prediction for Saturday,is Dines at rb,Hall in midfield, and Jordon pushed up a bit for Claudio.Ive probably got that totally wrong and Bondy will out on the wing.i will unfortunately not see it can't make.Keep me informed.

Its got nothing to do with being negative, its just that we want the team to improve their defending. 1) their is no talking, 2) ball watching & not looking where the opposition are. You wont win a championship with a leaky defence. You need the defence to be mean. The goals we are leaking are coming from both set pieces & open play.
