Matt Price departs

Shame to see him go.  I thought he was a good player and probably deserved more starts this season.  I'm probably one of the few who thought he'd make a good number 9.  He could beat a player out wide as well.

And you have to remember that he joined us after the Chatham game when the season was heading for disaster.  It was players like him and O'Neill that helped steady the ship and of course beat Dulwich and Hendon.

I would expect him to be good enough to get another team in our league.

Re: Matt Price departs

Pity, I never had any qualms to see Matty in the starting line-up. I wish him all the very best wherever he ends up....unless it's Dulwich or Tilbury.

Re: Matt Price departs

Like you Cricket, I felt he always was a threat, but I did feel he was not quite as effective as last season, but still a positive addition.

Re: Matt Price departs

very disappointed as thought he was an excellent no 9 and really worked well with Jake Baxter last season. He seemed under appreciated and very unlucky not to have got more starts this season. What i liked most was he always looked proud to wear the tooting and mitcham badge.Think he would have got a lot of goals this season

Re: Matt Price departs

Sorry to see Matt go, but this is squad game & nobody likes being on the bench. Perhaps now Frank will sign Scott Day as a replacement. Also he is a good 15 goals a season from the position he plays in.Go on Frank be brave do it.

Re: Matt Price departs

Underused and under appreciated. I liked him wide on the right, no nonsense approach and banged the crosses in, I've moaned about the lack of early delivery into the box for years, and he was one player that did it. A loss to the squad and I'm very disappointed.

Re: Matt Price departs

According to the official website, We have signed Scott Day & Peter Wedgeworth has comeback. I am pleased with the signing of Scott. I now hope we can strengthen the defence so we can get mean & not concede too many goals. Scott will score goals if given good service.
