Sad News, End of a lifelong "TERRORS FAN".

John Steptoe , an original "Sandy Lane" and "Imperial Fields" stalwart passed away at the end of September after a stay in St Georges Hospital. Dad introduced me to the highs and lows of Tooting & MItcham FC , told me many memories he had of the Paddy Hasty era, the FA cup runs and the "Bog End" !!!
Dads brother Brian Steptoe  had passed away some years ago now but was also a lifelong supporter and was even mentioned in the clubs programme of his untimely death back in the early 2000's.
I was able to take Dad to many home games up until a few years ago. Dad suffered from Dementia for too many years but always wanted and in fact asked to be updated with the teams results and "performances" good and bad and I feel it is poignant that I was able to communicate to him before his illness that eventually took him  that " Tooting & MItcham " were top of the table!!!!
This was obviously a few weeks ago but the news really cheered him up.
I hope to get to a few more games in this season now that Dad passed on to keep up the Steptoe tradition of supporting this great club.
RIP JOHN STEPTOE

Re: Sad News, End of a lifelong "TERRORS FAN".

Sorry to hear of your very sad news.
It is never easy during times like this but one thing you can be thankfull of is, at least you were bought up in the family tradition of supporting the "TERRORS", a priceless gift.
What with being champions of London and top of the table are two nice memories to take with you when you leave this place.
