Chace O'Neill signing certainly has left me with a spring in my step , I thought the last goal versus our arch enemies Dulwich H in the semis was the last O'Neil goal in the striped shirt .. certainly not and we can look forward to more assists goals from last season player of the year ...... well done Steve Adkins for pulling this signing off and showing the clubs intent to get back where we belong the Ryman league premier league !!! Thoughts ?

I am not sure how I feel about this news.
It is certainly a strong signal of the ambition Steve, Frank and Paul have for this season which, despite a few hiccups, has started really brightly and treated us to some entertaining footie.
And I have no doubts about the incredible ability of Chase who fully deserved the plaudits he received last season.
It us just that........I think we have come a long way fiom that reliance on one player.
With Chase back in the side how much ball will Taureen and Claudio see?
Will it signal the end of our threats down both flanks for dribbles through the middle that often led to lost possession and breakaways by the opposition?
It will be fun to see what happens next. Can't wait.

Great news - a brilliant player who we know will perform at this level. The task for the management is how to get the best out of him. And not just to get him playing well, but to get him playing so that the team plays better. We know he always makes ground when he's on the ball, so do you play him further forward where he can get into the danger area? But he is also a very good ball winner (watch him), so he could play deeper pulling the strings. Maybe we need to be a bit more solid in central midfield, so could he play out widish? You might think he's be wasted there but if the team works better as a whole, then that's where he should be.
And I hope the other players don't just look to give the ball to Chace all the time. All of our current players are decent and are capable of making decisions, so I hope they continue to do just that rather than just pass to Chace and let him do it.
And last time he was here he seemed to be the number 1 free kick taker, but without too much success, so again, I wouldn't automatically put him on all free kicks.
But overall, a great signing. And this time he has joined us when we are on a relative high. He came to us last season after the Chatham game (which incidentally, was exactly 365 days ago)

First class signing in my opinion. I can only see it as being a positive move. A statement of intention. Onwards and upwards.
Come on you Terrors !

Wow, this was welcome and very surprising news. We should be positive about this and not throw negative comments in before he's even kicked a ball for us. Stand out players don't come along very often at this level but he is most certainly one of them and I'm really pleased he has taken to us rather than go to one of the many clubs than would love to have him.
Chase is an intelligent player, he drives the team forward and picks the right option more often than not, this can't be said of some of the players we have. There is no reason that our wide players cannot see as much ball as before, Chase is not a greedy player, I think he will enhance the side rather than hinder it.
As for free kicks, Ashley Robinson is the man here, excellent delivery and very dangerous from shooting distance. His status in the team has grown in the last year and I think he has enough about him to pick the ball up ahead of Chase.
Although we've had bit of a dip in form over the last few weeks, we can still have a very good season and the return of the best player we've had for years could be a shot in the arm and keep us in the mix for a play off spot.

Absolutely brilliant news. Welcome back, what a player.
My only concern is who gets pushed out of the team. I hope growing talents like Ollie Bennett continue to be given a chance and develop.
Ultimately someone loses out tho.
Billy Dunn often plays as our 10 so it could be him vs Chace for that spot, which I see as healthy competition.
Anyway great news I'm delighted.

You did indeed 59er, well done sir. I've been told off for moaning about people's spelling before so I'm not going to do it anymore, especially in Chase O'Niel's case. Problem is my life is so cushy I've got fcuk all else to complain about

I had a feeling a couple of weeks ago about Chace coming back to us. It is certainly a good move from Steve & the management. It would be very interesting who will make way for him. I would push Billy up into a more advanced position. If Ollie is to retain his place, then there is room for him & Chace. Now we a team that is strong on the pitch & a very strong bench.

Will be great to see Chace back again.Who makes way??Well must be Billy or Ollie I think,or we change our shape. We still need to stick the ball in the net,and with Dunn off the boil lately.Pretty big squad now, hope Frank can keep them all happy.Cant wait for next drama🌞🌞

Well the first person to make way is Leon Lalor-Dell who has been released as well as Cameron Karembo.

Was this as a consequence of him not showing up for the trip to Norwich ? Or perhaps the squad just needed a bit of a trim.

By my count (and I only did maths up to "o" level at school!) taking into account the recent signings and those players currently injured, we still have 23 players that would be considered part of the "First Team Squad". Quite a challenge for any manager to keep that many players happy!

23 blimey ! by my maths (which I only did to CSE level at school) that's very nearly enough for 2 teams........I think
