RIP Carlos Alberto
Died of a heart attack in Rio aged 72.
Scorer of the most beautiful goal in world cup history, the 4th in that great Brazil side's victory against Italy in the 1970 tournament in Mexico. Carlos was also the captain of that side, probably the 3rd best team ever to have graced the planet behind only Chelsea and Tooting & Mitcham.
Rest In Peace Carlos old son.

Yet another one of the greats leaves us, that must be one heck of a team up there!
I must disagree with you cricket, they were! the greatest team to ever grace the beautiful game.
Ever since them the game has gone steadily downhill.

Football is all about opinions Ashtree and whilst I'll admit that Pele bloke was half decent let's be honest he was no Peter Osgood was he ?
And how ironic that when The Blues had 'The Cat' between the sticks Brazil's keeper was called Felix !
And another thing, you can't tell me Brazil had anyone with the grace and finesse of Chopper Harris.....I rest my case.

In 1970 I thought England were also a very good side and a match for the likes of Brazil and West Germany. With a bit of luck maybe we could have won that one as well.
It all went a long way downhill after that though !
