Match Thread V's Cray Wanderers Sunday Team

This Saturday is an opportunity  for the Terrors to  open a small gap from other  chasing promotion hopefuls, which includes Cray Wanderers.  In nearly 140 years, the combined efforts of Tooting Town and Mitcham Wanderers have met Cray on many occasions.  Cray who are tenants at Bromley, have to  play their home matches on Sunday's. They are now in dispute with the Mayor of London's office after they were declined planning permission for a new ground, which had already been  granted by Bromley Council.

Cray are now on a good run of matches, including last week's 4-0 victory over Marlow  in the FA Trophy. They now march on to meet Worthing in the last qualifying round.  Those who remember the play off final in 2007/8 season between both clubs at Imperial Fields will remember a cliff hanger, with Paul Vines scoring a late winner in front of 939 fans. Although Saturday's game is not so crucial,  both (Tooting (4th) and Cray (7th)  will want all  points on offer from a contest  which may prove very important at the end off of season. The Terrors will have to  sharpen up their scoring skills and a take a majority of the opportunities on offer, whilst the defence will have to  tighten up their defensive frailties.

Mike

Have you thought about supplying your recent match previews to the new South London Sport site that was talked about a few days ago.  I thinks its they type of thing he's looking for.

Re: Match Thread V's Cray Wanderers Sunday Team

If Cray's planning application fails to get approval for a new facility at Flamingo Park their legal team won't have a leg to stand on.

Sorry.

Re: Match Thread V's Cray Wanderers Sunday Team

EOL, thank you for your kind comments, I emailed the Sports Editor of the Guardian Newspaper group last week pointing out the lack of local football coverage. I still await a reply. I  will be writing to  the South London Press as well. As any media comments are heavily censored by the owner of the club, I  do not want the hard working volunteers to  take any backlash from articles being published in Newspapers or even the Match day programme.

I  started the match thread to provide  inclusive Pre and Post match comments about  individual games, as there seemed to  be a lack of enthusiasm on the forum in recent weeks.  It's interesting reading the various comments and different views and assessments on games which make for a healthy discussion. And of course we now know sitting in the stands is our next  Manager in waiting, you can't lick that!

I was thinking about this website.  I was going to submit my Twitter match previews, but your ones are probably better and more suitable for this new website.

Re: Match Thread V's Cray Wanderers Sunday Team

A match of huge importance tomorrow. I hope the Bog End gets behind the team, I thought the support from behind the goal on Tuesday was a bit muted despite the fact Bog End Tim was present and the match was highly exciting.

"Can you hear the Bog End sing ?" ssssssssssshhhh
