We made hard work of that. The match kicked off late because some of the Godalming team were delayed by roadworks and they played the whole of the first half with an outfield player in goal until their regular goalie arrived. We dominated possession but were guilty of overplaying around the edge of their box and barely had a shot on target until Billy Dunn scored with a strike through a packed Godalming defence towards the end. Still a win is a win. Another valuable three points. And we are edging closer to Dorking Wanderers who drew.

Very valuable and satisfying three points.
I thought we were quite complacent and sloppy first half, couldn't thread moves together. A bit better in the second half but still quite a way off our flowing best.
Pitch looked a little rugged today, bobbly and perhaps the winter weather has caught up with it. Having said that whoever looks after our pitch does a wonderful job.
Eddie dines our best player today, he really is fantastic at breaking up play and sitting in front of the defence.
Billy did what he does best, lethal from just outside the box.
Great to get another clean sheet. Rode our luck at times, they hit the post.
I thought the red for Jordan was slightly harsh,a yellow definitely, maybe not a red. He did have his hands around the other guy's neck tho....asking for trouble. Assume Callum will come in (if fit) or Adriano coming in to CB and sol to RB.

Phew relief when I received a goal flash that Dunn had broken the deadlock yet again . With our reputation and goal scoring feats sides quiet rightly are going to park the bus in Jose eyes and hold on .
We need to remain with our feet to the ground and creep up on Dorking Wanders , this promotion race has a few heavyweights in the fight with ourselves, Carshalton and even Hastings United to join the party.
Come the new year if we remain in top 2 expect the budget to rise and another quality player to add to the goal scoring feats of The D & D strike force Dunn & Dixon . No titles are ever settled Nov but today we won ugly dogged but hell no were they going to get pass the gladiators of Rowe & Patterson Bohner .
UNITED WE STAND....UNITED WE FALL #WEMARCHON

I do not think enough credit is being given to the Godalming team and their management, they came with a game plan, nine men behind the ball and hitting us on the break, and it nearly worked with their no. 9 ,who was always a threat, hitting the upright.
But credit to our lads they never gave up, yes it was not pretty, but the three points gained today might count for a lot come the end of the season.
Like you Dac 123, I felt Jordan was treated rather harsh, but raise your hands and your off! but with the strength in depth available to Frank, at least we have cover while he serves his ban.
So now Molesey are the next team up, so let us learn the lessons of today, it is not going to be easy but three points are three points, however they are won.
Well done lads!

You must read your programme (if you buy one of course) properly Mr dac, 'tis young Brian Nicholson, who as you so rightly say, does a super job.

I'm buzzing after this game! No team plays brilliant football every week - sometimes you just have to find a way to win by hook or by crook. And that's what we did, and as we did against South Park.
And it shows the importance of the clean sheet as we know you can't score 4 every week. And in players like Dunn, Roberts and O'Neill, we have guys with a bit of the X factor Who can conjour something out of nothing.
We know we can play some great football but now we know we can graft it out if necessary.
Like someone said above, we'd better expect more teams to defend in numbers from now on and we need to develop some strategies to deal with it.

One goal conceded in the last four games really is something to be proud of.

The ref confirmed after the game that it was a second yellow for Jordan (having received one shortly before) and not a straight red

A dreadful match, but hay we got 3points.Its true teams will plenty of men behind ball, and hit us on the break.Another fantastic goal from Billy, didn't look like it was going to be his game.He kept try things that just didn't come off.Same as Tauren, get past one then there was another one to get tackle in.Thats we must keep our feet on the ground and battle for each point.Looks like we have a fit squad now.Lets hope this rain won't spoil Tuesday game.Dont want to get behind in games.

When Billy got the late winner at South Park it was unbridled joy, when he got the late winner on Saturday it was utter relief, phew.
Great one-liner in the bar after the game, we were watching Spurs v West Ham and when the young kid Winks scored for Spurs Jim Silvey piped up with " Shouldn't he be wearing the number 40 shirt ?"
Very creditable 2-2 draw for Molesey at Lewes, who looked a decent side to me when they came to our place, so I won't be taking anything for granted tomorrow night, lesson learnt.

So Dac and Alan, you both think the red/2nd yellow for Jordan a bit harsh.
And yet you both acknowledge that if hands go up around the neck or face then it is a straight red.
No option for the referee. Red card.
So not harsh at all then was it.
We probably all know what it is like when the red mist descends.. (I hate to think how much red mist has descended over Boggies eyes over the years.)
But petulant handbags from next to nothing is not the dreaded uncontrollable red mist.
Sorry, irresponsible.
Wait 10 minutes, give the perpetrator a solid kick off the ball, they react and get sent off themselves.
Not surprising that, despite the gargantuan efforts of Brian, the pitch is becoming ragged.
Where last season we had just our 1st team and CP U21's playing on it we now have the 1st team, U21's, U18's and now the Ladies playing their games on it!
Don't quote me but I think in one recent week it hosted 5 games in 7 days. Even my beautifully manicured lawn could not cope with that schedule. Crazy. And if it impacts on the 1st team........
When we set up these additional sides I imagined that at least one of them would be on the 3G pitch.
But I believe the loss of the Farm Road facility has had some impact on this.
Shame.

I was born under a red mist mate
You devious, conniving git Bondy, did you teach Jordan Cheadle this trick in the incident with Jordan Clarke a couple of seasons back ?

I can understand where you are coming from Bondy, but my initial thoughts were, yes he raised his hands, which is a red card, but only because he himself was being manhandled, now I would put most people in the situation he found himself in and you would not be asking the person doing the manhandling for his address to send a Christmas card too personally speaking I do not think I could wait ten minutes before I could get revenge, like a lot of other people on here.
But as events turned out Jordan had previously received a yellow for another infringement, so the ref had no choice
