8 consecutive league wins

Last time we achieved this was 11 years ago when Gavin Grant and John Hastings inspired us to an 8 game winning streak on the way to the playoffs.

Re: 8 consecutive league wins

I think the all time record is 9 in1957-58, part of a 7 December to 30 April run of 13 wins and 3 draws. The following season started with 27 goals scored in 4 matches - then we lost at home to DH !!.

Re: 8 consecutive league wins

Congratulations to Frank, Paul and our super squad of players on their magnificent win in Guernsey and pushing us two points clear at the top of the table.  I hope the squad shows their allegiance to their management by staying at least until the end of the season.  The drawback, if there is one, of scoring all these goals is that it attracts attention from the larger clubs with bigger budgets.  I think we can expect a deluge of seven day approaches for our brilliant players so I really hope we do our best to keep the squad together.  Let's see if the size of our crowds start rising, it certainly should.

Re: 8 consecutive league wins

Personally i don't think we need to worry about players being poached until the end of the season (at least). The squad spirit looks so so strong and they seem a very tight bunch. I think that is good enough to hold this team together until AT LEAST the end of the season, especially with the potential reward of playing one league up with TMUFC. Our set up and infrastructure begs that we should be in a higher league and it looks this season like the re-introduction of U21 and youth levels has proved a good move with high performing teams in their respective leagues. I feel there is a good spirit around the club and I too hope that results in slowly higher attendances. These players should and will be chomping at the bit to take us up and then prove themselves in a league higher with this team...a level where many of them have previously played.

You also have to remember that players like Chace have dropped back down 2 steps to be a part of this team - granted that the Bishops Stortford experience would have been painful given they were rooted at the bottom of the conference south, but I am sure he was offered other options when he left there.

Lastly I think Frank and Paul deserve huge praise. They compliment each other well and they seem to have the full respect of the squad. There are some strong personalities and characters in that squad who are being managed and coached excellently and are thoroughly enjoying their football. Testament to the management for achieving that.
