I love the way we can put our pro club allegiances to one side when it comes to giving our support to Tooting. For example, on Tuesday night I was in the back of Dave Iron's motor and in the passenger seat was 'Fat Martin' the Gooner, now when you speak to Dave he can barely disguise his contempt for Arsenal and yet he spends all season driving the likes of Martin and Hackbridge Harry 100's of miles to away games in the cause of increasing the Tooting support.

Another interesting slant on this theme is the fact that in the back of Dave's car beside me were Lee the Mod and Paul the Rocker ! Being a former Vespa and Lambretta rider I would obviously have sided with Lee had it kicked off. I could never get my head around the Rocker scene, we used to call them 'Greasers' when I was a teen, all the Greasers seemed to be into Elvis Presley, wore dirty leather clobber, had greasy hair and even greasier girlfriends. Paul the Rocker is a barber by trade so presumably when he cuts one of his Rocker friend's hair he rubs in axle grease instead of Brylcreem. There they both were though, wearing their black & white scarves and enduring the near 2 hour journey through the South Circular traffic jam together, all in the common cause despite coming from alien cultures.

Last week it took us 45 minutes to fly from Guernsey to Gatwick and this week it took us the best part of 2 hours to drive from Mitcham to Eltham.

Now Greenwich have shattered our air of superiority we need to unite behind the goal tomorrow, Gooners and Spurs, Mods and Rockers, Remainers and Brexiteers.
