I see he's been given a contract till the end of the season, which on the basis of the 2 games I've seen him in is well deserved. I think he looks the part, and seems physically quite strong, and I noticed that he is quite prepared to want the ball and take responsibility for it. And it looks like he'll have a few more games to impress, and try to keep Wedgeworth out of the team when he gets back from injury.
I think it shows the merit of playing a more or less full strength team in the county cups, with perhaps just one or two fringe players, as you can see how they interact with 1st team players. Under previous regimes someone like Nunes may have played against Carshalton, but as part of a 2nd string XI where you might not get a full appreciation of his qualities.

What exactly does a contract mean at this level?
Correct me if I'm wrong here, my take is that contracts at our level are usually few and far between and tend to only be put in place when the club are aware of higher level of interest for which a contract stops bigger clubs poaching the player for free. E.g. We would be entitled to something given he is ours.
Is this a fair statement? Can it be applied to this situation?
Otherwise i thought most players are just on a get paid as you play basis only needing to sign Ryman forms as a basis of eligibility.
Curious.

Fabio has been given a contract as there is interest from anumber of clubs in national league and after speaking to his agent Robert Codner ex Brighton midfielder sat its a wise move after losing Dunn for nothing.
