DO THE FANS REALLY WANT THIS DISASTROUS CLUB BACK???????????

Following up on Dee Pee’s post on the Football Charter debacle, I ask if any sane person would they want to have this club back, due to the total mismanagement, total humiliation and huge embarrassment the club has endured over the last 7 years and beyond! Any chance of resurrecting this once great club has been virtually killed off, well at least at Imperial Fields.

Season after season we have to witness disaster after disaster. IE:

PLAYING SIDE

FIRST TEAM IN DRAMATIC DECLINE

WALKOUT, APPOINTMENT AND SACKING OF MANAGERS

FARCIAL TAKEOVER BID (which lead to the season to ends all seasons)

THE COMPLETE DESTRUCTION OF A SUCCESSFUL RESERVE TEAM

ACADEMY TEAMS

ACADEMY COACHES

ACADEMY TEAM FOOTBALL KIT

JUNIOR TEAMS

LADIES TEAMS

THE FIRST TEAM TAKING SECOND PLACE TO OTHER TEAMS USING THE MAIN PITCH

THE LOSS OF THE FOOTBALL CLUB CHARTER STANDARD MARK

FALLING GATES  - DECLINE OF FAN BASE

NO BUDGET

MITCHAM BELLE COACHES

KIT AND SPORTS WEAR SUPPLIERS

ADVERTISING HOARDINGS

CLUB SHOP FIASCO

ADMINISTRATION AND BAR STAFF

CHAIRMAN OF FOOTBALL MERRY GO ROUND

COMPANY’S GOING INTO ADMINISTRATION

THE HUB FAILIURE AND CONSTANT RE BRANDING

THE ABOVE IS JUST A SHORT LIST OF THE DISASTERS OF THE MAJOR FAILURES.

There are many more which could be added to the above, some too contentious to print here.

The Football ground and complex has to be up there with the best in the country, The entire  complex and infrastructure has grown with the help of Education and Government funding.  After 7 years with this facility we should be one of the leading non-league clubs in the country. Clubs who visit our ground just look on envy. We have sunk so low, some clubs cannot believe they play in the same league as Tooting.

“DESIGNED TO FAIL”, these words have been used often to describe events by subscriber to  this and our previous forums. Well, I guess they are right. I understand the Football club was to be the flag ship of the community scheme when the new regime arrived to take over the club. Names like Real Madrid and Barcelona were used to describe how the club would be structured and run. What happened!

The Football club has now reached rock bottom, with little hope of salvaging anything at Imperial Fields. Who really wants to be involved with this monstrous failure, with little hope of turning things around, and having any real Influence what happens?

Used, abused, means to an end, yes the end of the Football club as we know it. There are some great memories of this club with  over 125 years of history, built totally by the local community. The individuals involved should be totally ashamed, but I guess they don't care anyway.

RIP TOOTING AND MITCHAM, UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB

Re: DO THE FANS REALLY WANT THIS DISASTROUS CLUB BACK???????????

On 1st September 2005 there was a merger of interests between Tooting and Mitcham United Football Club and their landlord, Tooting & Mitcham Sports & Leisure Limited.

The merger of interests was to achieve "Vision of The Hub"

So the question is:-  Has the "Vision of The Hub" been achieved?

The following is what was said to members on 2nd June 2005 by Chris Woolley and Martin Hazelwood:-

The Vision for The Club and The Hub

We see this will enshrine the following principles:

1. Total transparency between Club and Hub

2. A one cost centre with a unified administration operated on a strictly not for profit basis.

3. The active participation of the Club and all its members in the running of the Club and the Hub to the greater good of both.

4. A substantial growth in the Membership of the Club brought about by the appeal of the Club as a committed partner to users of the Hub.

5. The provision of key local resources the Concept behind which is already attracting interest from other clubs as pioneer and model.

6. The challenge is to make Tooting & Mitcham United FC the best semi-professional club in the land, one built on sound foundations of good practice in all matters.
