Guernsey skipper quits

I see the Guernsey captain, Jamie Dodd has decided to leave the club.  It seems that he, and 2 others played in a local game last Monday, just 2 days before the game against Corinthian Casuals.  Presumably the manager wasn't happy with this and dropped them for the Casuals game.  So, in what looks like a toys and pram incident, Dodd has decided to not play for Guernsey again.

He was the skipper and had played over 200 times for them.

I know that plenty of players at our level also turn out for Sunday teams etc, but is it a droppable offence?  Should managers at our level expect to be able to tell players what they can and can't do in their spare time?

Re: Guernsey skipper quits

Depends on the terms of the contract (If they are on one).

Re: Guernsey skipper quits

Remember what happened to Jake! we were all pinning our hopes on him for the forthcoming season.
I suppose at the end of the day, unless on a contract, the choice is the individuals, if he wishes to risk injury and lose his main weekly game.
