After choking on his in-flight complementary peanuts on news the of our late winner against Carshalton, the Dorking manager order an early start to the pitch preparation for the crunch match on Saturday.

Love it!
So Saturday afternoon is booked, staring at my computer at the live scores from the Ryman Web page.
I have 5 large cans of English beer, (3 Ruddles County & 2 Speckled Hen) ready for the celebrations, I have been keeping them back just for this.
What a fantastic season for you guys, to have that chance of winning the league at the end of the season is something to cherish. Tooting's away support has always been the envy of many Isthmian clubs over the years, so I hope everyone enjoys their day. No doubts as the week goes by the nerves will start to jangle.
Give the team all the support it needs, as you always have.
Good luck, and although I cant be there personally, I will be there in spirit.

DISBELEIFE
I have been a Tooting and Mitcham supporter all my life. My father first took me in 1956 when I was four years old and I have been a one club man all my life. Since 1956 there have only been very few occasions when we have been champions, in fact just two 58/59 and 59/60. In the clubs history we have never played 40 games, had 95 points or scored 115 goals or won 15 games on the trot and so these are heady times.
I have known most of our supporters for over forty years and because of what I have just said it is met with ‘DISBELEF’. None of our supporters can imagine that this is our season and will not until the last ball is kicked or we declared champions before that happens. If we were a premiership side and nine points clear all of the pundits would be saying ‘Its ours’ and would look at the teams below us working out that there is little or no chance of being caught.
The problem is I am the same disbeliever, but wins at Lewes and Hastings and the incredible run we have been on just made me feel fantastic. Yes there are still games that we worry about Carshalton at home and Dorking away, but why should we fixate ourselves with deep negative thoughts when what we should now be doing is BELIEVING. I now believe that we will be champions. I don’t think that anyone would have considered that at the beginning of the season that this could have happened. I take my hat of to Frank and Paul who have produced a miracle and have worked very hard to produce this team and have kept it going all season.
In conversation with them they love the support, but wonder why our backing is not more positive. This has a lot to do with their short time with us and a lack of understanding of the past, but with all this said we just need to
‘BELIEVE’
and we should all continue to get behind the team and put our most positive spin on our support, we could, no we should go against all of our negative thoughts and banish them and enjoy this most wonderful moment. A chorus of ‘WE are top of the League’ or better still ‘WE are the Champions’ would be a proper response and we should because who knows when the next time will be.

Update on my last posting after Ramsgate which was very frustrating and the late winner against Carshalton its all to play for. Our team are the most together they have been for some time and I feel strongly that they will be on the top of their game come Saturday. I am confident they will confront the day and will be crowned CHAMPIONS at the end of it. I had planned that we would all go skinny dipping in the sea after the Ramsgate game, but it was not to be and being in Dorking I am struggling to come up with a post match Celebration that would fulfil my ambitions. I hope that everyone will stay to celebrate this monumental occasion.

You have missed the 2nd Division Championship winning team of 2000-01 with Keith Boanas in charge.
That was the team that played 14 league games in 42 days.

OH no ! I hear you. but you seem to be missing the point. Once upon a time this club had players that played for nothing when things where different and just wore the shirt. The problem is things have changed and now and money talks. I don't believe that is happening at Tooting ,but players earn money. For all that I underline my point of BELIEVE why are we even considering a play off place when our destiny is in our hands and with our players its ours. It could not come to the kiss of death on the basis of confidence and
we are amazingly in a new age which is very rare. The management and players have the confidence to create something few us would BELIEVE which is not the play offs.

On my way out of the door from work last night .
My manager..."Andy, I've looked at the Ryman South table, Dorking need to beat you 10 nil on Saturday."
Me..."No, its five"
My manager.."How do you work that out ?"
Me..." Because we're playing Dorking, every goal they score reduces our goal difference by one"
My manager..." Nah, its ten,"
I'll have another go tomorrow.
