The Race for Relegation!

A stated a few  weeks ago,  any team gaining an average of one point per game would be safe from relegation this season,  as only one team to be demoted.  There are only four teams"left"In the Pot" who at this time fail to  meet this criteria.  They are as follows:-
                                       Played    Points           Ave
Harlow                                39              37              0.94
Lowestoft Town                 39              36              0.92
Tooting and Mitcham         40             34               0.85
Burgess Hill Town             38              31              0.81

The above teams  are in the order shown in the current league table.  The average points correlate to  the named teams league standing.  The Terrors need to  get 12 points ( 4 wins) from their remaining  6 league games, Home to  Leatherhead, Tonbridge Angels, Harlow Town, away to Needham Market, Harrow Borough and Met Police to reach 46 points.. Considering the recent disastrous run of form and with the worse defence in the league (92 goals against) , the situation look dire , especially as the Terrors have played more games than those in the relegation battle.

Those hoping teams will go out of business to  stave off relegation should think twice! Thurrock have not yet resigned from the League and  they may be able to  continue next season. Those club's facing financial difficulties will survive.  Even if he Terrors do survive, there needs to  be major changes in the approach and commitment to play at this higher level of Football.  The track record suggests this will not happen!

Will the Terrors make it 100 humiliating goals against for the season?

Re: The Race for Relegation!

Hi all

Hope some of you can make it up to Needham on Saturday. We have managed to scrape enough points together to be almost safe, but none of us are confident yet. A lot of our supporters see Saturday's game as a great chance to get the 3 points that will almost certainly keep us up, but I'm expecting a tough game as you guys need the points. We're not great Harlow fans here after their 'supporters' caused damage at our ground when we beat them to promotion, so I'd happily see them go down.....

On Saturday we are having our Easter Draw after the game, with a karaoke and happy hour, plus Everton vs Man City on tv, so if any of you aren't rushing off you will be most welcome to stay and join in! There will also be Easter eggs for all children after the game, so if any of you are bringing youngsters they will be included.

Please spread the word and hope to see you on Saturday

Re: The Race for Relegation!

Or you could look at the positive and hope that if Burgess Hill don’t manage to pick up another point, which is very possible given their fixtures, then we don’t need a fanciful 4 wins.  In fact we would not need any more points at all.
But if your glass has just just a tiny drop left in the bottom.....
