Away to Staines Town Kick Off 12.30
Offline
Good news but I am a little undecided whether to watch the game at my daughters, or get a football fix at Staines, then watch the game there.
Anyone else going?

Quite enough of bloody Staines after last Season.....

Time for retribution Harry, they have lost a fair few players from last season, whereas we have not.
Perhaps a draw is on the cards.

Alan, I for one wont be going to Staines, I will be watching the England game down the club

I know where you are coming from Geoff, it is a difficult decision to have to make but I have now decided to go to the game, but record the England game to watch when I come home.
Just hope I can avoid any info on the radio.

Remember the Likely Lads. "I won't tell you the score, but there weren't any goals."
You might be on your own Alan so can you try to make a note of the team and substitutes etc

No problem "Endo" provided I can get a team sheet, as I am going to a classic car auction first thing and do not expect to get to the ground until just before kick off.

I see that Fabio Nunes turned out for Staines.

First eleven; Pierson-Carrington-Kyei-Jones-Hibbert-Griffiths-Bennett-Sol-Quincy-Tope-Dines
Second half subs; Zamara-Clements-Bassett-Simpson-Cave and no. 18 who was unknown.
Substituted;Rowe-Dines-Hibbert-Jones-Kyei-Bennett
Our scorer in the second half Clements, at the time of my leaving the score was 1 - 1 with approximately 5 - 10 mins. left. Not a classic which considering it was the first game under trying conditions, was not unexpected. We had the better of the two halves and should have scored at least two more. Once again our defensive frailties were exposed when with their first attack into our half after 23 minutes, resulted in them scoring a very scrappy goal on the far post when we did not clear the ball. Sound familiar?
Staines were particularly inept and nothing like the team who taught us the harsh realities of life in the premiership last season.
Overall is suppose Ashley should feel the most satisfied out of the two managers and things will improve as the games come along

You might as well be talking in a foreign language Darren. Us oldies are not computer savvy.

Thanks for the update any sign of wedgeworth or any other players in stand. Seems like typical pre season think there will still be some ins and outs before season starts. Was also told Dunn is training with us was he in attendance.

Alan, you manage to post on here so you are not doing too bad.
I will show you how to copy and paste the next time i see you. Otherwise I'm sure Anthony will help you out.

Thanks for the report Alan. Sorry to hear that Nunes was in the Staines side. He will be an outstanding player over the next decade or so.

Wedgeworth, or Merson were not around neither was Dunn.
Apart from three new faces it was the same basically as last year.

Thanks Alan will take in a few pre season games before start. Hope we get a new defence sorted because we was like a time bomb waiting to explode at times last year.

Wedgie, Billy Dunn and Jordan Wilson are all expected to feature in Tuesday’s game.
Look out in social media and official website for player update Monday or Tuesday

TPF even though the defence struggled last season, the season before Rowe & SPB were outstanding. And we are a division lower.
I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised how many players we seem to have retained. Normally a relegation or a managerial change means wholesale changes on the 1st team front. Not saying we don't need fresh blood but a settled side and presumably a good team spirit will hopefully help us get off to a good start.

That is true we are a league lower and i hope we can get some momentum early.I think lot of its down to the squad actually being mates having seen lows and highs together. As for competition you could tell difference in class last year. Still think another solid defender and goal scorer and we will challange. Here is for better year for the bog enders we deserve it after last year.
