The older members of this Forum ( ie most of you ! ) will recall that, back in 2002, I wrote and published a book " Tooting On The Move - A Farewell To Sandy Lane ". Well, I have been at it again. My new book " We Woz Robbed In '59 - Tooting and Mitcham United's epic 1958/59 season , set to a background of social events of the time " is due to go off to the printers later this week. I hope to have some copies with me for sale, at £10-00 each, at the home game v Uxbridge on Saturday 8th. December. Copies will also be available to buy by post. As the title implies the book is not just about the club's season but also about what was going on locally at the time - music, employment, politics crime, etc. About 115 pages, lots of photographs. Hopefully, a good read ! Maybe a Xmas present !

Thanks, Stephen. Should be no need to reserve a copy. About a year ago I put a message on this forum about " Tooting On The Move " to see how much interest there was. There was also an article in the programme. But there was not sufficient demand to justify a reprint. No promises, but I'll have a look to see if I still have a spare copy and let you know.

Brilliant read, reminds me of an enjoyable, if tough time, in my youth.
Working class, which is what I always proudly consider myself, never had it easy but football was the release valve for most of us.
Just got to the section regarding Bournemouth. although I was not there, reading your book made me feel as if I was.
Great read Jeff.

Yes. I can't put it down - and it was supposed to be a Christmas present from the wife! Wonder what the 1976 volume should be a real cracker. When's it going to be ready Jeff?

Thanks 59.Today is,of course, the 60th.anniversary of the Forest match at Sandy Lane.
Have sold over 100 so far. The book will be reviewed in Backpass, Groundtastic and Programme Monthly magazines during the next couple of months. Tried When Saturday Comes but they said that they didn't have the space.
