Played well today, thought Khan was excellent, won't win many games without a striker though.
Poor referee and neither of their pens should have been given.

Neither should ours! I felt the referee just felt obliged to even it up.
Overall I felt the better team won and until we improve our standard of play in the last third, when we play the better teams we will struggle.
But I thoroughly enjoyed the game today, except the result of course, both teams played some good football which for any first timers present must make them want to come again.

Agree with alanj. First half in particular saw some fine passing build ups but markedly in the second half no end product. As for the penalties I say bring in VAR at this level of football !!!!!!!!! or perhaps a free eyesight test for the officials !!!!

A potentially excellent game ruined by the referee. I'm normally reluctant to criticize the officials but this bloke totally lost it. All four goals in the game came as a result of dubious decisions by the ref.
Having said that, I was really disappointed with our response to going 1-3 down early in the second half. We were not out of the game at that point but it seemed that the players had already mentally lost and had no belief they could get back into it. We look pretty ineffective in front of goal and a new striker should be a priority, we had plenty of possession but their keeper had a very easy second 45 minutes.

A very unbiased report which makes a change 59er.

agree totally with what most posts have said about this game, yes ref and assistants were both useless and clueless,
dont think any of the penalties were penalties, but we should be used to the pathetic standard of official at this level by now.having said that after a promising 1st half from toots we were dealt with very easily by hayes in the 2nd half.
i wasnt that impressed by them ,but to be fair they did what they had to do with the minimum of fuss and were
overall the better team.as others have already said it is glaringly obvious we need a striker who knows where the net is because as it stands at the moment for all our good approach play we are pretty toothless,i wont hold my breath on getting anybody though.

Pretty fair report on their website there, describing all the penalties as dubious. Anybody else think the referee left his cards in the changing rooms in the first half? There were some meaty tackles going in, from both sides, which he chose to deal with only by seemingly long-winded lectures, but then in the second period started waving the card around for trivial, by comparison, offences!
Also, how accurate are the attendance figures? Saturday was given as 269 which is almost 100 short of the Ware game, but it seemed a much bigger turnout than then, particularly given how many away fans had travelled. It's also the first time i've been unable to get a programme due to them selling out! (Although, admittedly, i did rock up at about 5 to 3 due to travel issues, i'm usually in the ground much earlier than that)...

Apologies for the boys selling out early Ted, it's always a fine juggling act to guess the potential gate numbers for each fixture. This time we were seemingly blessed with a programme buying gate that cleaned us out before kick-off.
There are probably some Ware programmes left over (????) yet as you say the gate was allegedly bigger (??? - most of the additional numbers must've stayed in the bar)
Ho hum, more gate guesswork to come this Saturday too then.
