First 4 games

I notice that we have won the first 3 league games of the season for the first time since 1963.  Without trying to be a Jonah, we could equal our Isthmian League record of winning the 4th in a row on Saturday.  We achieved this in 1958 - and we know what happened that season - yes - we were robbed.

But looking back to that season it throws up a reminder of how there were some odd scores sometimes.  We travelled to Dulwich in the second game of the season and came away with an 8-2 victory.  But just 2 weeks later they beat us 3-1 at our place in the return fixture.

Re: First 4 games

Congratulations to all concerned on the 4th win to equal the record of the immortals. In addition to 1963, the 1974 season  began with 3 wins. The first match was  a 2-1 win at Woking which featured an outstanding performance and goal from new signing Ronnie Howell possibly Tooting's best ever player. With Nicky Glover, who had made only one previous appearance, scoring the other goal the build up to the cup run in 1975-76 had begun. Happy days !
