A month for mad Hares!!!

With only 10 games left in the season, Tooting are still struggling to score a point per game. They will need at least 36 points by the end of the season to avoid the dipterous drop to the dark depths of Football.  Four wins should keep Tooting in this dreadful league or they will be relegated to oblivion and humiliation into the pits of the pyramid.
The scheduled 6 games for March have been reduced 5 games with the cancellation of the Sutton Common Rovers match, which has yet to be re-scheduled, and certainly will be a real relegation crunch match. Without a league win since the 19th December and only 5 points gained in this period, the outlook does not look good.
Tooting now have reached their lowest league position since Tooting Town and Mitcham Wanderers merged (Takeover really) in 1932. The current pyramid structure with Tooting in level 4, with all the other level 4 leagues throughout the Country means Tooting status has diminished considerably.

But who cares, the Football club is only minor part of Imperial Fields project. Are we looking at the demise of a once great club?

Let’s look  forward to March: -

Sat 5th   Mar – Away     -   Chertsey Town     -    League
Chertsey are second in the league, and baring a disaster for current leaders Bracknell Town. Chertsey are in the race to finish second with 5 other clubs close on their tail. They will want to stay second to be in a good position in the lottery of the promotion play-offs. Where does this leave Tooting in this game? Current form suggests a home win with a large home support.

Sat 12th Mar – Home    -   Basingstoke Town -   League
The Town are one off six clubs chasing for second place, which leaves Tooting with another tough game and according to form another loss?

Sat 19th Mar – Away     -   Marlow                   -   League
Yet another club chasing for second position, and Tooting will have to fight hard to earn a point.

Mon 21stMar – Away     -   Bracknell Town      -   League
Tooting visit runaway leaders Bracknell, yet another ground in the middle of nowhere! I just hope we can find some opposition for the home team, who will probably be on the verge of becoming champions of this dreadful league.

Sat 26th Mar -   Home     -   Binfield                  -   League
Some relief for the last game of March when Tooting entertain An average Binfield Team from this abysmal league, which our club contributes to it’s mediocracy. This should be a home win.
This ends a decisive month for Tooting,

Re: A month for mad Hares!!!

It's hard to see us even gaining one point from those 5 games. Perhaps Binfield will be solidly mid table and may be already on their summer holidays so perhaps they will be there for the taking. But as for the other 4... well - we've all seen upset results in the past - but I'm not sure if we are up for it.

Re: A month for mad Hares!!!

One shock result: Basingstoke at home.  We will win it and everyone who doesn't know the club better will think that we have turned the corner.

Even the Chuckle Brothers deserve a bit of luck.

Re: A month for mad Hares!!!

Without a league win in almost 3 months I fear something is wrong! But we all understand the club hierarchy are concerned as explained by Woolley!

Re: A month for mad Hares!!!

Well my prediction of an upset went down the pan like a morning-after vindaloo turd.

Never mind though.  Three points from six games is better than two points from six games.

How positive is that?🙌

Re: A month for mad Hares!!!

After 3 months to the day, since Tooting’s won a league game, will we see all-social media sites burst into ferocious action with a victory. They must be bursting to record something positive about this humiliating situation. We will see the following quotes:
“Fabulous victory”
“Fabulous performance”
“This superb squad of players and management”
“Completely dominated opposition”
“Relegation Avoided”

I bet the social media sites cannot wait to hit the red button for a glorious win!

Re: A month for mad Hares!!!

Another loss today.  Is this now a record sequence with no wins in the league?  Someone must know.

Re: A month for mad Hares!!!

I make it 90 days. I think we managed 93 days under Ken Brown.

Re: A month for mad Hares!!!

So the Chuckle Brothers need to conjure up a win against Bracknell on Monday to avoid this unwanted and humiliating record.

Seeing as Bracknell are already champions, let's hope that they take their eye off the ball and we get a surprise win.

Re: A month for mad Hares!!!

March is turning into mad March Hare month.
As we all know Tooting travel to league champions Bracknell Town tomorrow for a league fixture. Champions with 6 games to spare, let’s hope they are totally plastered from their celebrations over Saturday and hopefully Sunday as well. This is the only way Tooting can secure a valuable point(s) to save the club from a dreadful humiliation and the being the laughing stock of local football, and the wider football community. which they already are! But in reality, does anybody really care about this, obviously not. Farewell to a once great club.

Re: A month for mad Hares!!!

Hi Gary,
Why waste this incredible talent in the Surrey Youth Premier Elite, put them in the South Central League, they can't be any worse than the current set up. One benefit they would inherit is two proven youth coaches.
