April Fool

Now all Tooting’s games have been completed in March  we look forward to April Fools month. March was another disastrous month for the football team with only 1 point gained, but a collection of achievements including not winning a league game for over 3 months, including over 100 days without a win, and being at their lowest league position since the 2 clubs merged.

During the month, the loss of one of the useless joint managers was also achieved, hopefully the remaining Management/Coaching will do the right thing and quit (just dreaming). Then the panic button was also pressed with the inclusion of a number of new third rate players to save the club’s and the remaining management complete humiliation. The only point gained was from an unlikely source in a 0-0 draw at Bracknell, who were runaway champions of the league. This only 2 days after Bracknell had won the league, and with their season effectively finished, and I suspect some celebratory hangovers. Let’s hope they play better in their remaining games against couple of our relegation challengers!

April will see a chaotic month with the Staines Town situation which until today is still remains unresolved, despite the Isthmian League statement on helping the club to finish all its league matches.  Tooting still have a relegation battle, but have games this month which on paper they should win in this pathetic league, and we are part of it, big time.

Tooting finish their league fixtures a week earlier than all the other clubs, as they are the odd club (sure are) of the 19 clubs without a fixture. The remaining 5 fixtures are: -

Sat 2nd April   -   Away   -   Chalfont St Peter – League
This is a huge fixture in the relegation battle, and should have been an easy match   with a comprehensive win. Not any more, the pathetic performances of last month, and the rest of the season, will make this game critical for both clubs (An understatement!).

Wed 6th April   -   Away   -   Sutton Common Rovers -  League (Leatherhead FC)
SCR are now probably safe from relegation after some recent spirited displays, which makes our performances even more pitiful. This was going to be a crunch relegation battle but not any more for SCR.  A club without a ground, one man and a dog for fans, but a team which can survive even in this low level of football. But a must win game for Tooting. (Why I don’t Know).

Sat  9th April  - Home  - Bedfont Sports – League
A team who are chasing promotion and loaded with experienced players will test Tooting to the limits. Welcome back Danny Williams, I hope you see what your missing!

Sat 16th April   -   Away   -    Hanwell Town   -   League
Hanwell has an outside chance for promotion, and are difficult team to beat at home, and also fielding experience players. Another nightmare game for Tooting.

Mon 18th April    -   Home   - Staines   -    League
And finally, the last game of the season against Staines Town if it’s still scheduled. This brings a halt to the most disastrous ever season in the history of the Football Club. Will they stay up, you would think so on paper, but this a club in complete disarray and should be relegated on their God-awful performances this season. Still, this is totally irrelevant to the Owner and the puppets in the Members Club, the agents and the management and coaching team. I just feel sorry for the players who have been used as cannon fodder, and placed in this position!   If the game is played should be an easy win, let the celebrations begin at the awards night!

Re: April Fool

All we have to do is lose to Chalfont tomorrow to prove the game plan is to reduce us to the carrot crunchers, eyes down for 15:00

Re: April Fool

I think the Isthmian League have made everyone look like April Fools, except the owner, Woolley and the so called management and coaching team.. They could not organise a p---u- in a brewery with free beer.
