STEVE ADKINS is he really a business man?

Yesterdays league game at Dulwich the gate was 3334 and that for a team in the relegation zone.
So what you ask? Well at £12 per head i make that around £40,000 take away concessions and expenses add in considerable bar takings and that must still come out at a fair sum probably more than we make for the whole season
The point i am trying to make is that with some reasonable investment into the playing side of the club to move us up the leagues and with reasonable luck we could be pulling in much bigger crowds than the pitiful handful that come through the gate at the moment.

Well to return to the heading of this post what do you guys think is STEVE ADKINS really a business man on the back of my post i think he clearly is not unless he is just a lazy business man.
What do any of you think i would really like to know your opinions ?

You forgot something important Dan: advertising.  The more supporters that come through the turnstiles, the more firm's will want to advertise at the ground and in the programme.

Re: STEVE ADKINS is he really a business man?

I'm sure the other 'interests' such as property are far more lucerative than the football? Also, the youth team is where a few financial exchanges may take place if a player signs a pro contract? Appreciate Tooting has the FB account and advertises game but agree much more could be done.

Re: STEVE ADKINS is he really a business man?

Steve Adkins seems to be a successful businessman in property. He seems to have little interest in football or know what it takes to run a decent football club.
He is used to investing his money in less risky ventures where he has the knowhow to make money. He sees football as a high risk where you can pour vast amounts of money into, with no certainty of any return. Adkins doesn't want to risk ANY money at all on the football team.
It is probably true that there is no money to be made in football in this country unless you are in the Premier League, and most proper business people wouldn't touch football with a bargepole.
Which begs the question, why is he here? Why is he involved in the first place? He must have known what he was getting in to. He seems quite willing to run the club into the ground, the fans deserve better.
Most T&M fans would be happy to be competing in the Premier Division, which wouldn't take a massive amount of money to achieve. An experienced manager and a reasonable playing budget would probably see us promoted quite quickly, but that seems a risk Adkins is not prepared to take.
The management team and the mad youth policy in place seem firmly entrenched in Adkins mind and there is no indication at the moment that anything is going to change.

Re: STEVE ADKINS is he really a business man?

  Hi Dan,
I would not know where to start about the owner of a shambles of a Football Team being an astute businessman. There are many reasons why he owns (900 plus lease) Imperial Fields. His main objective was to use the old club as a vehicle for raising funds for his own vision on the site, which basically did not include the new Football Team. His plans also included using the local council for his ambitions both personally and politically. Woolley’s last posting on here described “the great threat the project was under.” This posting was as Laughable as himself and the useless members club puppets. You basically could pull apart every statement he made in this unbelievable piece of nonsense!

I don’t know about his other business interests which he’s got many, but would you like to be involved with him. His imperial project alone is sitting on assets worth millions alone! on this site.

The original Football Club had a great community following, and were responsible for raising the funds to buy Sandy Lane and its development. that legacy has now been allowed to flow into the gutter and down the drain with the team. When the takeover happened, the old committee and new members club shambles were warned what would happen, and sure enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just look at the statement below made by the institution at the time of the takeover.

Since 2005:  Quote “The challenge is to make Tooting & Mitcham United FC the best semi-professional club in the land, one built on sound foundations of good practice in all matters!! (You can’t make this up lol)
