Stefan's thoughts on our last league Fixture V's Thatcham

Stefan gives his verdict on  The Terrors league season.

Today’s match was another team performance, slightly diluted through injury but never-the-less was a good result
but Thatcham Town was never going to make it easy for us, giving a strong performance in the second half,
especially in the last 20 minutes, when several of our experience players had to leave the pitch through minor
injuries.

However, based upon what I and the supporters of Tooting saw today, the team and staff should feel confident to a man, that the team has come so far, they are not going to turn back without giving a performance worthy of their third place inthis league, against a good Fleet Town side on Saturday the 18th of April.

Our supporters will act as a 12th man, cheering on our lads, because with a big crowd behind them, what more motivation will our players need to propel them into the playoff final!

The management have put together a team that perhaps we (I) didn’t see at the time, but have come on leaps and bounds where there is great belief that promotion is very much in our hands. It’s very much down to the players to put in another team performance for themselves, management, and more importantly the supporters who have followed them, either at home or away .

From a personal prospectus, they have achieved what I wanted to see, a playoff place in a league that has been dominated by one team, Cobham, who fully deserve their title, as championship winners.  We can now only compete against the next two best teams in our league, but we, like them, deserve to be there. May the best team win promotion, and let’s hope it’s Tooting & Mitcham, for the players could not have given more, and truly deserve the opportunity to gain promotion this year.  However, they will have to do it on the pitch and keep cool heads to avoid any sending off’s that could make all the difference to whether we progress as we approach our last, but hopefully, not, our final match in this league.

My final message, play with confidence, knowing the player next to you is going to do the same and let’s see where it takes us. You could not have given it more and we are very proud of you for what you have already achieved this season. One final push to make the supporters happy!

Well put posting Stefan. My sentiments exactly .It would be the icing on the cake if Toots can move forward with promotion particularly after their efforts of late.
