Stefan has requested I post his views on yesterday's game against Epsom & Ewell
This match was always going to be a close encounter, and it was until the very end, when two late goals
meant that T&M came away with all three valuable points from a dogged E&E side who could not cope with
the ongoing pressure created from the away side, helped by the sloping pitch, which gave E&E the
advantaged in the first half.
However, it was evident we had the advantage in the second half, pumping balls towards their goal,
creating numerous opportunities but failing to convert, through no fault of our forward line, but due to
the bounce of their hard pitch and decisions taken by the referee that were dubious at the best of times.
Their No.11 scored two very good breakaway goals, when our defence was kept napping.
We can’t afford that to happen on Saturday , and hopefully lessons were learnt from today’s performance,
where I suspect more balls will be played on the ground then in the air, and this win can only propel the
team forward. It has to be, if promotion is going to be a reality.
Well done Toot’s. You kept going when the away supporters felt the game was slipping away.
