The Fleet Town game leaves Stefan very frustrated again

The views from our ace reporter Stefan on the Fleet Town game!

Yesterday’s performance against Fleet Town was ok, but if we need to catch the chasing pack,
then management really need to focus on what was missing from our performance.
Goals, and the accurate distribution of the ball, whether it’s general passing, freekicks, and corners.

These are key elements of the game, and unless we focus on the basics, we are just going the watch
the top five teams, just pull away whilst we wave them goodbye.

If the supporters are hurting, then management are hurting even more. And so they should be, as
promotion is in their hands. How much do they want it. Is the club putting more importance into the
youth, then our own 1st team squad of players. For those who can remember, we came down several
divisions because of our youth policy at the time, putting too much belief and effort into our youth and
look what happened. Where are we now. Are youth the answer, well, it hasn’t changed our situation since
we dropped out of the Isthmian Premier league, and it will not change unless management change things
on the pitch.

We are slowly building, getting a good No. 9 and No.11 with plenty of experience on the pitch but they
need support, from the midfield as they just can’t do it on their own.

The players are trying and it was evident to those who were watching they were, but the passing at times
as well as shooting needed a lot to be desired, where Fleet Town had an air of confidence in their play when
on the break.

I know ES (our No9) given the opportunity, will put the ball away but how can he do it with little support.
It was just not there yesterday, and will it be there in the future, I don’t know unless change happens, and
happens fast. We are where we are in this league due to our performance on the pitch.
Whether it’s because we let a few players go from last season who I thought offered something different
(Taz comes to mind) and one or two players in defence.

Anyway, we just need to go into each game with confidence and with a desire to win our match using the
skills each player has in their armoury and be prepared to do something different because at the moment,
it’s the same old, same old, and it’s not working, so please squad / management, give the supporters
something that they can see on the pitch that is different to what they have been watching this season,
plus, goals, as goals mean points and more goals will ensure that we have a chance of a play off position,
and at the moment we are well short of both.

Re: The Fleet Town game leaves Stefan very frustrated again

Great summing up again Stefan! Languishing mid table or worse throughout the season is not good enough for this club!
