Tooting 3 Mole Valley 1

A decent enough performance and a quite entertaining game.  We created a lot more chances than of late, but on the other hand, Badiali had to make 2 or 3 big saves in the 2nd half.  I struggled to follow what our formation was, but we did play at a decent tempo.  Goals for all the forwards apart from Sawyer, who seems to be making a habit of bringing out the best from opposition goalies!

Re: Tooting 3 Mole Valley 1

The win was thanks almost entirely to Dave Irons. He told me he'd bought a pair of thermal socks recently after his tootsies had almost frozen off at a game before christmas. He'd worn them at every game he'd been to since and we'd failed to win any of them. Last night he didn't wear his unlucky thermals and this was the reason we triumphed. So if you're reading this Craig Tanner, don't try and take any of the credit, it had nothing to do with tactics, formations, coaching, team selection or confidence, it was all down to Dave's choice of what 'Tilbury docks' he wore !!!

Superstitious old lot us footy fans, aint we ?

Re: Tooting 3 Mole Valley 1

Sorry, been away and playing now catch up.

I have attended more early rounds of the LSC and SSC in the past than is good for me.
Miserable, damp winter evenings that clash with Champion League games resulting in almost zero attendance by both home and away fans leading to lively debate on here the next day about just why we bother entering them.
Well on Tuesday we entertained Mole Valley and they brought with them a refreshingly enthusiastic and friendly bunch of spectators of all ages.
Although we fielded a pretty strong side they came in to the game with a really positive attitude from the start, were well organised and had a few players with real talent.
As a result they gave us a few frights right from the start and those in attendance got to watch a very entertaining game of football that made my after match beer taste good again.
We were perhaps fortunate they had not played in 6 weeks!!!
Come again Mole Valley
